I thought I would post a how too.. you may have to cut and paste the link.
Don't know how I missed this but, I'm headed to the thrift stores TODAY
After seeing these at a craft show I made some for myself and for gifts. Mine are glass, using ashtrays, candle holders, dessert and candy dishes,
etc.The "stems" are pvc pipe and the "flowers: are glued together in layers with E6000 (the best glue ever made)
I have to say, my own personal opinion-I think your clear glass ones are so much prettier-I'll bet the cut glass really catches the sunlight and the pretty solar light at night-we have the crackle glass ones too-do you have the color changing light on yours?
Thank you for your kind comment. I bought most of the glass at Salvation Army store so they were very inexpensive to make. I paid 50 cents for most pieces and many of them are beautiful cut glass. If one really was unusual I paid a dollar but no more. My solar lights are the color changing ones.
queenofhearts, yes, I'm from Minnesota, but I think these have been on pinterest and other places for awhile. He just happened to start making them. He sold a lot of them for gardens here and people brought for Christmas presents

these are so pretty, but in my neighborhood some kid would come along and put their foot through it just for fun.
Very pretty. I love the idea of recycling plates rather than tossing them out.
Have never seen anything like this, they are beautiful and unique. Great way to earn a little spending money.
I have purchased similar "flowers" at our local Renaissance Faire. They make lovely gifts for the gardener.
