Your room looks great, but the puppy wants the fabric on the floor so he can make a bed!!!!
Your hanging quilts are beautiful!
Thanks! And yes, our puppy would love if i had all my fabric on the floor but not for a bed. So he could grab it and fight with it! lol
I love your room. a nice inspiration for me. I just changed my sewing room with my sons room under the roof. Now I have got a lot of space about 40 square metre but now idea how to arrange. How did you fold your fabrics?
I have a 12"x24" ruler. Folded fabric so selvages where together and then wrapped around the ruler. Then in half. That way, all fabric was the same size.
Hope this helps and good luck with yr new room! :)
You have a sewing area most of us can only dream about.. if you want to swap mine is a spacious 8'x8' room and you can trip any which way you turn sound good huh.. lol
Oh, i do know how that feels! This is the best sewing room I have ever had! I did have one that was so small, half was in what i called my sewing room and then other half was across the hall in my office! So thankful for the room I have now!!!
How nice, I love it all, including that little sheltie I see!!! I wish I had your organization skills, you have an amazing sewing quarters!
Thank you! I am thrilled with it now that it is organized. I have started another quilt tho so it is not as neat and tidy as what it was in the pics! lol
I will never be this organized , but I am happy for you. I guess it is a woman cave! Kay
Love your room. One can only dream. How big is your room?
Happy Stitching!!!
Sorry, wrong dimensions! I got my husband to help me measure my room last nite and it is 13' x 13'.
Sweet, Thank you. Until my oldest finds his own place I can dream. My room isn't as big as your, but like your lay out of machines and things. Happy Stitching!!!!
Wow, what a wonderful, neat and spacious room! Congratulations.
Hugs, Lidia
UNBELIEVABLE. To have your material so nicely color coordinated is amazing. This is a awesome room. Unfortunately Just about when I get organized I start a project and out goes the neatness.
I have started on a new quilt so it will b interesting to see how long my room stays neat! So far, so good….but the day is still young! lol
I do not think I will ever get that organized. Quite impressive!
WOW !! What a beautiful room! You must feel very creative in such a room. Mine is such a mess, that I am not feeling very creative at the moment. Perhaps you can come and help me sort it out?? What a great stash of fabric, I thought I had a stash, but you beat me hands down!!! LOL :)
Not surprised that you have been busy sorting with such a great room.
Beautiful! But, have to ask...what are your favorite thread brands?
I love Isacord!!! I bought a kit containing all of the colors at the time (400 I believe) from Sew For Less years ago when I bought my sewing machine. I just keep replacing what I have used. Now if I have an embroidery project, I have all the colors that I need.
Well, the first thing that got my attention was the pair of ears sticking up in the second photo! YOU HAVE A SHELTIE! I'm a Sheltie person and had 2 dogs for 26 years - Kelly died at 14 and Bella died at 12 only 3 years ago. Wonderful room to have everything at your fingertips. I particularly like the fabric in the wardrobe on the tiered racks. I love cleaning up my room and I was going to do it yesterday, but babysitting duties got in the way. Maybe I'll try again today. Love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
Yes, we have a Sheltie! This is our third one and I do have to say that this is the one that definitely has the most 'attitude'! He is 1 1/2yrs old and is still very much puppy and does not like it when mom is in her sewing room working! He brings me toys, noses me (and hard!!!) and then to really get my attention, he steps on the foot pedal of the sewing machine! Guess he just wants to help! Lol
You mean, shortly the room will look "utilized"? These pics are awesome. Some of us would pay for a set of these pics to take to class and tell lies about "our" sewing room! hehe
wow.... the most nice place..... well done and sure you love this place.
A sewer's fantasy....i knew dreams could come true.....
Wowie!!!!you must feel like you are in quilting heaven, I know I would with such a beautiful room like your's...........Was wondering who built it for you, maybe a hubby? It is just to marvelous for words....
Actually, we bought the house and this bedroom was downstairs. We have a walk-out basement so it doesn't even feel like a basement. (My sewing room is the only room in the basement that has a little window!) We saw the shelves on sale at Home Depot so we bought 2 as they fit perfectly in the closet. (If we buy 2 more on wheels, they will also fit in front of the ones that are there.) Then bought some cheap sticky tiles to put on the shelves so that my fabric wouldn't have the wire ridges in them. Other than that, it is just furniture that we have had around and re-purposed. Well except for my sewing table and cutting table - that was compliments of my wonderful hubby!
My hubby also added 2 more florescent lights for me. One to replace a bare bulb in my fabric closet and the other above my cutting table! Now any time of day or nite, it is like a room filled with sunshine! Gotta love that hubby of mine!!!
Oh Wow! It looks beautiful! Would you come and help me clean up my nightmare? I am almost afraid to enter my sewing room these days!
Hmmmm, where do u live??? I have 6 quilts that i need to get done asap but maybe…… Lol
This is such a beautiful room and I envy you your beautiful collection of material!(lol) Well done.
what a beautiful way you are storing your fabric... love it... you are so lucky to have such a large room.. have fun in it..
Beautiful!!This looks like a picture out of a magazine---can i come shopo at your store???
Love your sewing, cutting and ironing stations. Love your rotation thread stand next to your machine. Where do you store all your thread? In drawers? Good collection of fabrics. I have sewer's envy. LOL
That rotation stand that u r referring to was made by a friend while we were living in Saudi - where u have to come up with creative ideas. The bottom is a turntable from Ikea, the middle layer I believe also came from Ikea and the top….no idea. Then drilling was done and doweling inserted and waalaa…an awesome embroidery wedding cake! If u look at the pic of the wall unit with the doors open, u will see about 16 containers (some white, some clear). That is all my embroidery thread.
Oh my, this is Awesome. This room is so Magnificent !!!! A huge job well done. Congratulations !! Hugs
You have a beautiful sewing room that makes a lot of very jealous! Good job organizing! Nice quilts displayed.
All I can say is WOW! Now show us the new quilt when you finish!
