I was afraid something might get into the open end of my embroidery unit, when it wasn't on my machine. So measure the opening, took a lid off an empty spray can, it was pliable and fit it over the open end of the unit. It's protected at the house and on the road if I transport the machine. Just an idea and wondered if anyone else did something like this?

Clever...I rarely take mine off as I can sew with it attached...I rarely sew on it either...usually sew on my other machine..a Janome 8000 that I bought in 1989...

Mine is too little to sew with it attached. Thanks for looking. :-)

Very smart idea. I have a hard case that came with mine to put it in with the hoops so this has never occurred to me for those who do not have the case I think it's a great way to protect it. Lillian AKA lbrow

That's a very clever idea. I'm impressed. I'd steal it, but mine doesn't attach that way, it attaches with a cord and plug.

You wouldn't have to steal it, I'll share. Thanks. :-)

Never thought of that! I shut the "door" over the hole in the machine when I take it off, but didn't even think about the unit "plug"! Tks! Don't take it off often, but I do when I have to sew something large.

Yeah, I do too, but I was afraid I'd squish something in there. My machine is to little to sew with the unit attached. :-)

Good idea to protect your investment. I don't do anything like this because I never take mine apart.

Mine won't act like a regular sewing machine if the unit is attached, so when I am not embroidery... :-} Thanks for replying.
