BJ welcome to our cute family but Might I suggest that you not put your email here just in case it is not a safe idea & I wouldn't want anything to happen. Do let us know how your syrup turns out is sounds quite nice. ~hugs~
HI ALL I SAYED I WOULD NOT COME HERE AGAINE AFTER I WAS ACUSSED OF SOMETHING I DID NOT DO.BUT I HAVE A CANNING TIP YHAT JEST MIGHT HELP THE JARS TO SELL BETTER. GET A LARG THICK BATHE TOWEL OR SLEEPING BAG.BUT IT ON THE TABLE,DO YOUR NORMAL CANNING PROCHIDER.FILL HOT JARS,BUT LIDES ON THAT HAVE BEEN IN HOT WATER.SEAL JARS TIGHT,BUT JARES UP SIDE DOWN ON TOWL THAT HAS BEEN PUT IN SLEEPING BAG,BUT JARES UPSIDE DOWN ON TOWEL THEN ANOTHER TOWEL ON TOP OF UPSIDE DOWN JARES,DO UP ZIPER ON SLEEPING BAG..LEAVE JARES TO COOL ,ALL THE LIDES SHOULD BE SEALED......I DO THIS WITH THE HOT PEPPER JELLY AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY NOT SEAL YET...GOOD LUCK ...LUCY
I ALSO MALE LEMON SYRUP..GOO FOR TEA OR LEMON ADE..
SLICE LEMONS THIN ..PPUT SUGAR ON BOTTEM ..LAYER SUGAR AND LENONS TILL JAR IS FULL.I PRESS THE LENON DOWN TO MAKE SURE THE LAST LAYER IS SUGAR..THEM I WIPE THE JARE TO MAKE SURE NO SUGAR IS AROUND JARE MOUTH,,WITH A HOT SEALER LIP SEAL JARES..TURN UP SIDE DOWN ON CLEAN TEA TOWEL ON COUNTER..LEAVE UP SIDE DOWN FOR 2 WEEKS ,ON COUNTER OR PANTREY.IT IS READEY TO USE IN 6 WEEKS...AFRER OPENIMG A JAR REFERGATE...IN JOY..
I'm not sure what has happened Lucy, But I thank you for the information & if I decide one day that I want to sell homemade preserves I will consider your tips. ~hugs~
