I traded in my Babylock Evolve for the new Ovation. I love it! So much better than the Evolve and I love the bigger size. Now to learn to use it. I hadn't used my Evolve for 3 years. I have 2 weeks to get used to it and the threading. I have a 3 day serger class October 2 through the 4th. I don't want to be the dunce of the class. I don't want to embarrass my Cute family or myself.

Hahaha, I know what you are going through. I actually started on a 5 thread Brother industrial years ago.... then the person who said I could buy it, said she wanted it back. So I got a domestic 4 thread, which I have now been using for about 20 years (it's had a motor rebuild). Then my dear husband bought me a 2nd hand Singer 5 thread industrial, so I then had to get used to & teach myself how to thread that one..... Once you get the hang of it, you will be fine.
Enjoy!!!

Congratulations Karen. I would love to have a new Serger, mine is so old it came over on the ark. Seldom get it out anymore and could really use a good one since I'm making all these pillowcase dresses for the orphanage in Haiti. /Lillian Have fun with it

I thought why a 3-day class, but when I went to the Babylock site and saw that beauty it made sense. I love the wide space it has and 3 loopers and all those needles sounds daunting. Congratulations and have fun learning. A nice stitch bible would be a great reminder of all you can do with it! Looking forward toseeing some of your class projects!

Mine is 23 years old, just 2needles and 2 loopers. And still a reliable workhorse, but seeing these newer ones it certainly looks primitive by comparison!

Excited for you. Does your store offer a Serger Club? There's a store in Birmingham that has a club once a month with ideas, plus the students bring their projects. I chanced upon their class and I've never seen so many crazily happy and excited seamstresses in one place. (I don't have a serger.)

Congratulations! I think you will be the best in class. You are so talented -- I am sure it will not take you long to learn it all. I do know what you mean though not wanting to be the "slow learner" It seems the slower ones don't have near as much fun.
I can't wait to see what you create now!

Karen, there is no way you could ever be the dunce of the class. You will know how to thread it and and by the end of the class you will be at the top of the class in knowing how to use it efficiently. Congratulations on your new baby. Hugs, Mary
