NOT EMBROIDERY RELATED.

Tales of owning a motorhome.
As some of you now know i have a tiny motor home and have had great fun this year going out and about with it.
In just thought that I would share a couple of experiences that occurred at Shell island over the last two weeks.
I was parked up as normal on the last car park overlooking the beach. The weather was truly amazing with hot sunny days one after the other and warm nights that tempted you out for a moonlight walk along the beach along the tideline.
The one morning a group of fisher men arrived and began to off load the small dingy form the top of their car and then prepare their rods for line fishing mackerel. We exchanged greetings and I wished them well and then got on with my busy day of checking how many waves came to shore in one hours length.
A few hours later the weary fishermen came back and as I had seen them approach I put the big kettle on to boil. They had had a good catch and held three buckets full of nice fat fish. The one man asked if I would be interested in a couple of them for tea. I asked him if he would be interested in tea or coffee all around. the end result was they had three coffees and I had two big mackerel. At 11-30AM the fish were swimming in the sea, at 1.00PM they were in my tummy. fried to perfection. sprinkled with salt and fresh lemon juice and served up with fresh crusty bread and baby tomatoes .
Very Happy
On the Friday morning around 10.30 a whilst I was still busy making sure that the waves were in formation and not being too big a car pulled up opposite me and two people got out with a large dog and disappeared down onto the beach. I continued with my wave check as I had already done the dog walk and had breakfast and tidied up the inside of the Bambi.
After about an hour with the sun getting warmer by the minute the couple arrived back at their car put the dog inside and took out two folding chairs. I took no notice of them and left them to their own devices whilst I attempted to look through my eyelids.
Suddenly I heard a ladies voice asking about my Bambi. I peeled my eyelids back to see "Marge Simpson " in a Bikini stood in front of me.
She explained that she and her partner were camping the other end of the island and a little motor home like mine would be just great as she did a lot of shows to sell her jewelry and she could stay overnight at some sites and still carry all her needs. She decided to get her chair and join me and proceeded to call her partner over as well.
I offered them a cup of tea or coffee as one does on these occasions, to which they accepted. It was three hours later before they decided to leave.
I could now let go of all the laughter that I had held back during that time.
The Marge Simpson look a like was wearing a very bright bikini that was about two sizes too big. she was not a young person and had very small boob's. the results of this rather inappropriate dress wear was that her nipples were hanging outside of the bikini top a bit like two puppy tongues.
I was not her best friend and no I had not wanted to embarrass her.
The next day the pair returned and once more after walking the dog gathered their chairs and came over to join me. (oh wooppee) She once more started to tell me all about her jewelry making and suddenly produced a piece of fruitcake she explained that it was a thank you for the tea the previous day, for which kind gesture I thanked her. after about half hour of being talked to death she mentioned the fact that a nice cup of tea would go down well with a slice of fruit cake right now ???????????
I made the tea and served the cake after about twenty minutes I told them I had to take the dogs. out.
The couple arrived outside my door on Monday and once more settled down and actually asked for the kettle to be put on. This time I told them that very sadly I had run out of gas and could not comply with their request but that I had some water if that would suffice for their needs. they were not happy at this turn of events and even less when I made myself a nice cup of coffee from the hot water in the flask.
They took the hint and left after just ten minutes deciding to go to the café on the site for a nice cup of tea. I settled back down to this time counting the birds that flew over.
There will be an extra sign going on my rear blind. "Café closed for the duration"
the Joys of owning a motor home are just endless

We used to have a motorhome - it was our car for a while. You do have some adventures with them. Please don't put up a "Café Closed" sign. You might miss out on folk like the fishermen. Cheers

Great stories. We were camping years ago and had the annexe set up as well and everything including table chairs and a urn which was mostly on the boil. Every night just before bed time this one chap would enter out annexe with cup in hand for us to fill it. He could have gone to the community kitchen and boiled the electric jug but that would have taken him longer. We often have a laugh about that guy. Hugs

I could picture you peeling back your eyelids. I am glad someone is checking on the waves. We wouldn't want too many coming to shore. You are so funny. Wonderful stories.

You are a great story teller. I love each and every one including how you manage to keep the waves in check. Thank goodness for you working with Mother Nature. I like the fishermen and wished they had come back to visit you. I like you Café Closed idea. Be sure you get it done this winter.

Annie when we spoke the other evening you forgot the first part about the fishermen and the mackerel. Your Marge Simpson story is hilarious but I am probably the only Cutie that heard it directly from you, that was very special. Is she now plaguing someone else up there or has she tracked you back home?
