This image is of the Parish Church of St Andrew in the village of Paull, East Yorkshire, where I live : we are having to raise a huge amount of money to repair the damage done by last year's floods, and these bookmarks are the first two of many items I'm making to sell to help raise money for the church restoration fund. Love

Sad history. Unfortunately, something like that also very often happens with us! There the people must help themselves mostly. A lot of success by the sales! Flowers for you

OH Dianne, this is lovely - perhaps we could assist you with your bookmarks - if we each made you a couple - it would surely be a great effort for the restoration - wouldn't it? Can I help with this or something else? *4U

That is a lovely and generous offer - one I would be happy to accept! I take it you all realise I'm in the UK so postage would be involved? If anyone would like to contribute please email me - dianne@ourhouse.karoo.co.uk - and I'll let you have my postal address. Love and hugs (and flowers!) Dianne x x x x

The are very nice and a great idea. I started bookmarks for the repair of our church's roof, but never thought of digitizing a picture of the church. I might give that a try. Thank you for sharing, I'll pinch your idea!!

The church dates from 1355, and is on the site of an even older church built in the early 1100's. When we had the awful rain and floods last summer the village was badly hit, but as the church is on a slight hill it should have survived unscathed. Unfortunately the torrential rain revealed the fact that the lead had been stolen off the roof some time before so the water poured in and caused a colossal amount of damage, which has to be repaired or replaced. Needless to say, we aren't repairing the roof with lead, as we know it will only get stolen again!
