I have an Elna 8300 Xperience and only use prewound bobbins with no problems. I buy size A from Metro Embroidery as listed below in crafter's comments. They have the best price for bobbins. If you want to send me a Private Message maybe we could connect as I am Canadian as well.

Hi Jerri. I'd love to connect with you on Private Message.. How do I do that? Linda.
If you look up in the top and find Inbox---click on it and in the box type in my name....jerrib...then you can write me a message that only you and I can read. I will send you one. You will see a red 1 beside Inbox, so just click on it.
I have an Elna Xperience which does not like the pre-wound bobbins, so instead of them going to waste I rewind them onto the main machine bobbins. To loosen them just tap them on a hard surface first. My Brother Machine doesn't mind them. Hope this helps.
Maureen
I thought of pre-wounds because my machine doesn't seem to wind the bobbins consistently or, it seems, tight enough.
Thanks for the post.
I think each machine has a mind of its own. Buy a few and give them a try. Hugs. Nan W
I wish I could help, but I do not own your machine. I do purchase my prewound bobbins from Metro and all my Baby Lock machines like it. If your Elna does not like them I would buy them from you so you would not be out a fortune :)
