Hi ibrow, what a wonderful person you are, I'm sure all the girls in Haiti will love receiving these. May I ask how many T-towels does it take to make a dress. Such an interesting use of a T- towel. Regards Lorraine McNeill of Woodcroft South Australia
Lorraine I did not use tea towels with these but have made them with the towels. . If they are smaller sizes, 4,5,6 it would only take 2 tea towels, if you want to put a contrast band on bottom ., a 1/4th of yard would probably do 2 dresses. I also use fabric to make the ties instead of ribbons. Going to Haiti, they wash their clothes in creeks by slapping on rocks in the area they are in so had to use fabrics that would hold up. Glad to meet you Lorraine and real proud to have you with us here at Cute. A warm welcome to you and hope you will enjoy being with us. Back to the dresses, I have seen cute ones made from 2 bandannas and colored shoe strings used for the ties. I thought they looked adorable and were very easy to make./Lillian
Such a worthwhile cause, you're an angel to make all these.
You are a wonderful person for having done this. I so salute you and your efforts.
What a beautiful job you have done and those little girls are going to feel you love wrapped around them when they wear their very own specially made dress!
Terrific job, Lillian, you have made sixteen girls happy!
Well done.
Hugs, Lidia
Great contribution to a good cause. And no two ones the same, so it won't feel like an orphanage uniform for them.
Don't you love the sight of them all before sending them on? It always gives me a warm feeling.
You are right Martine, I try, so no 2 will be alike. This is my first time to add pockets, Can't wait to see how they like them. I always liked heaving a pocket in my dress when I was young.. thank you/Lillian
What a wonderful gesture you've done. Those little girls will be so beautiful in all of these glorious colours. I can just picture them in it. God bless you in all that you do. Love Chris
