Toogie, he is going to absolutely fall in love with this towel. I enlarged it and it looks perfect. You are the one being over critical of what happened with it because you know about enlarging it! Great Job! Love the tracks too! ***4All***
Toogie, I think this truck just popped up out of it's lines because it was going so fast down that track! Little boys don't look at things as closely as we who craft them do. He will love it.......it's exactly what he wanted.
Lol-Either going too fast, like you say, or falling apart, like his PaPa's is going to do, before Cams old enough to drive! We will see tomorrow how he likes it.
Well, Toogie, I for one don't mind the design being off-line so to say. Your grandson Cam will love it because YOU made it for him. Well done on getting the design to what he requested. Love and blessings Chris
Thanks Chris and we will find out soon, what he thinks about it, birthday is tomorrow!
He will like it!!!!!! Better a BIG truck a little imperfect then a tiny one.
PS. I can't even see the imperfection
Click on the bottom photo and then click on it again. The outline around the tires and truck are off. Again, not the design. It was my fault for enlarging too much. He will be surprised to see the tire tracks, and that the truck is so big, after I said it would be too small.
Kids move too fast to notice imperfection. As my grandmother used to say, it'll never be seen on a trotting horse. (Used to refer to a dirty spot, small hole or other minor imperfection.)
We are so often our worse critic. I'm sure he'll love it :)
I am for sure, hard on myself. I'll let you know but he probably will like it. I forgot to ask what color truck he wanted, design was yellow and brown, but he likes his Papas's red one.
I bet that little 8 yr old will be so pleased with that he won't even notice the "mistakes!" We do anything to make those kids happy, huh!? Happy Birthday, little one!
Hi Toogie, this truck is great, even if the lines don't matchup. I do not think your 8 year old will mind one bit. I would call it a new twist on modern art (machine embroidery art), I think that he will feel very special. Regards Lorraine McNeill of Woodcroft South Australia
Thank you, Lorraine. I have seen designs, that were intentionally designed, with the outline off. Thank you from Toogie-USA
Hi Toogie, Thankyou for your response, wow this is my first little letter from the United States of America, it has made my day. Hope you have a fantastic week. Regards Lorraine
I can see tiny spots og peeking out but TINY! I would not worry about it one bit the towel looks wonderful & I do believe that he will be a very happy 8 year old! ~hugs~
It is the outline off, more than anything else. Again it is my fault, not the design, for trying to make it so large. I think he will like it okay and its 'wrapped' in its bag, with the pillowcase.
He will not see anything except what he insisted on having and will be so proud of it/Lillian
Thanks Lillian, I guess kids are all the same, no matter where you're from or where you go. It looks better here, from a distance so it will be okay. He's a sweet child.
Be sure to take a picture of his face when he sees it, that will disolve all your worries about how good it is.
LOL- I will IF I can remember! I used to be called Flashbulb, by a friend of ours.-lol- He is the only one called me that, thank goodness. It was because I was always taking pictures. Back in the day when we had film, my husbands co-worker said I took so many photos, he hoped we had stock in Kodak !
I think it looks awesome, the towel itself is super nice and then to have it personalized with something he loves is great! Every little boy should be that lucky!
Thanks Sharon, towels from your store. I used these towels before and really liked them. I bought Avery's pink, first hooded towel I made, at JC Pennys. I didn't like hers. They were thinner, microfiber or something. I won't buy those again. You might can see if you click on the key words, -can't remember if I put a key word for it. Anyway, the rest were made from towels from Walmart, and they are really thick/plush when washed.
I used to be a penney's towel fan, I just don't get to go in the one in the next town so much. I do know there for awhile I was against our towels, I had bought black and washed it I don't know how many times trying to make the color stop bleeding. I think I even returned it. On the other hand, we have sold some I do like. I guess it just depends on who they get their purchase from and it probably changes with the wind. lol!
A child does not look for mistakes - he will just love it and I think it looks super!! Just enjoy having a super gift for this cute little boy! Well done.
It looks great...and he will love it!!!
It's growing on me-ha... now that its finished, I like it better...and also because you girls sure know how to lift ones spirits!
He will be over the moon with his idea and the towel! Don't you know grammies can do anything? It's really cute, he'll never notice the imperfections you mentioned. Happy Birthday to the little guy. :-)
Thank you Leaha, maybe he won't look too closely. I made his cousin a hooded towel a while back, a different design,so he wanted one too. The cousin swims, but Cam won't get in the water. I guess his will be just for bath time or play time.
Toogie, if he notices the lines, simply tell him that's because the car is going down the towel and they show movement. He will be satisfied. :-)
Looks great on my screen. I love how you got it together. You did great job making what was asked for.
I do try to please them, even when they won't take 'no it won't work' or 'I can't enlarge it enough to look good'. Just don't enlarge the photo-lol-Thanks for looking and commenting.-Toogie
It looks fine in the picture.....and I am sure to an 8yr old it will be perfect! How much fun!
Thank you, it does look better here...if you don't click on the photo and blow it up- His Papa has a red 4x4 double cab, truck but his tires are not monster size. Cam loves it. He wants it when he grows up...at least that what he says now.-lol- I'm going to tell him, that this is Papa peeling out (hence the black marks on the road) trying to sling all the mud off his red truck.-ha ha- he'll get a kick/laugh out of that, because Papa doesn't drive like that.
He will love it. Great work !!!
I do think he will, just 'I' wasn't happy. For one thing it took too long, too many stitches. I had to leave my machine on, make my evening school route, and then come back and finish.
Unless he does embroidery work he won't notice! He will LOVE IT, for all the reason it matters. YOU made it for HIM!
He likes looking at the designs, but no he's not into embroidering, probably couldn't sit still, INSIDE long enough.-lol- Yes, it's made especially for him. He didn't specify the truck color, but he wants his grandpas old red 4x4 hunting truck, so that's why this one is red like PaPas.
It is great.. and you know what he will say .. other than he loves it.
'I knew you could do it' or See I told you 'let you fill in the rest' ;-)
It's just fine. And in that 8 yr old's eyes you are just the bestest , smartest, loving, miracle working adult in his life. Enjjoy hie delight at receiving exactly what he wanted!
It looks great and I am sure he will love it. I have found if you increase or decrease a design in increments (hope that is spelt correctly) they turn out better that doing it once. I have SewWhat Pro, program and have increased or decreased a design more than 50%, but again did it in stages...10%, then 10% etc. until I got the size I needed. With SewWhat Pro, the stitch count and density adjust with every change, so didn't have to worry about that part of the design.
My program increases the stitch count too, but I think I could have used your tip before, about up- sizing a little at a time.I will try that next time, but right now, I don't want to stitch this one any time soon. I stitched the other g-son an applique this morning, and made a hooded towel, in no time at all.
I think it looks great and he will never notice. Great work Toogie.
Thanks Sarah. It took a long time to stitch it out, and maybe because it did take so long, I was just frustrated with it. From a distance, it doesn't look too bad,I guess.
I think he'll love it! Don't point out what you think are boo boos and he'll never know.
Jo
I know in his mind, all he'll see, is the truck he wanted. I know about the 'boo boos' but he won't care...I hope.
Great, the designs together are very nice, I stitched the truck for my grandson one year ago, but your combination looks much better then only the truck. By the way, I stitched the truck on a T-Shirt but for this the density was to high.
It does have a high density/stitch count. Since I enlarged it the stitches increased too. 31,784 stitches !
I think it looks great. I know he will love it!!!
