I just completed a 3 day class on learning to use my serger. It is put on by suegb. It was very tough to do with my vertigo but well worth it. If anyone is unsure of how to use the feet or puzzled by the threading, run to take this class. I learned so much even though I could do very little of the actual stitching during the class. And I have the workbook to refer to for the rest of my life. Yippee! Even the folks who were quite experienced with the serger had a great time and learned from the class. It was worth every penny. There is also an advanced class but I will not be able to take it. I will try to add the link, but if I mess it up, just google suegb events and you should be able to check out what it is all about. I missed you folks but I was so tired after class I went to bed very early.

So glad you got to complete this class and know that you will enjoy the instruction you got. Have fun dreaming up the next ideas! Could you get the some from the group together somewhere in a month or so to show off work and share ideas? One of the stores in Birmingham has a "Serger Club" that meets and I think it has really helped their machine sales to do this. Ask your dealer!

Well done for completing your three days - even with your vertigo. My overlocker (serger) is about 30 years old and it only overlocks but I would not change it for anything.

So now...can you teach me?-lol- I got my serger at Hancock Fabrics a couple years ago. No classes. I wanted it to edge finish seams, which I can do. I also have made jackets for the girls. I want to make a rolled hem for baby bonnets. Never have tried a rolled hem and that is one other reason I wanted a serger. I think you have to disengage the knife or slide a switch or something. I really need to read my book. My serger is not an expensive one, Juno by Janome 3434D- Differential feed.- Glad you were able to go and learn about your machine.-Toogie

I wish we had one in our area, I see so many fantastic things, and reading about versus someone with hands on to show so you can repeat is different as night and day. I am green with envy! I am so glad you could go!

Sounds like a good class!! I too am taking a serger class - we are making 3 pillows. Even using a serger to put in the zippers. As soon as I have finished the last pillow - I will post. I agree - serger classes can teach us so much about these machines!! I truly hope your "dizzys" simply go away!! Hugs to you! Laura*
