This looks wonderful! But is there any milk in it or other liquid? Seems like it needs some other liquid other than just the egg and lard. Thanks

The bread is soaked in water, then squeeze out the excess, then add other ingredients, try one, lol, xx

Oh yum-my mom used to make this a lot when we were all kids-I loved it! I have never made it myself because my husband and daughters won't eat it -which means I would HAVE eat the WHOLE thing myself...not good lol

Seeing this brought back some lovely memories of my dear Mum who passed away over 10 years ago (still miss her ). I haven't seen 1 of these since she passed. Thank you for the memories.

Hi Maria, Yeah sure. Loaf bread, bag mixed fruit (500g) 1 egg, lard 125g if you don't like lard you can use trex, sugar 125g, mixed spices 2 tsp, that's it, you can vary sugar & spices to your own taste, I cook this for 1 1/2 hrs on 180. Jean xx

On , My goodness , we Americans don't know how to measure in Grams. This reminds me of a neighbor. She was from Germany and when her Mom came to visit ,she always brought her own measuring cups as the ounces we use confused her. Kay

Katydid, approx 1 lb fruit 4 to 5 oz lard & sugar, ok, xx
