Hi Carolyn, I thinking along the same lines as pacmp. It could be used in between layers as a waterproof liner you would have to press from the other side.. Let us know what you decide to do with it... Marian

As others have said a foam packing material and all the products I have gotten tend to tear quite easily in just one direction, so it may not cover your wood pile for very long. I would think to use it to make place mats and coaster linings as it is waterproof and a little cushion. I also think it would be a good idea to use it with applique, to cut out shapes and put under an applique to build up an area but only if it does not gum up the needle... though the products I have seen, did not leave gum residue but it would be best to check that out prior to using. Have fun!

It looks like a plastic to me. Put it between 2 pieces of old fabric and press with the iron I think it would melt. So if you used it for embroidery you couldn't press it when finished,

I might try that 10ft piece on the roof above my bedroom. It might quieten the noise the birds make every morning disturbing my sleep. You could send it over to me ha ha ha Hugs Shirley

I would save it for packing and don't you have a huge roll of batting that needs to be used up?

I don't think I would use it for much other than packing material for something you know could easily break. I don't think it would be water resistant to use with coasters, but you can test it.

If they are foam, I wouldn't advise it. Could gum up your needles

I have read that it is highly flammable - but that oeople have used it to wrap bottled water to keep them cool and also have used them wet and placed around plants to hold in moisture.
Not sure about sewing on it or using it in place of a batting - might try it as a filler between fabric for coasters.
It is polyethylene.
