We should have a tip section. Dig this: Buy yourself a new toilet brush with a long handle (really Cheap at Walmart). An easy way to pick up those pesky strings on the floor--especially if you have a carpet--and save trying to get them out of vacuum brush. I sit in my chair for this one and do it.
Brilliant! Thanks for showing us this solution.
Great idea. Could have used this on Saturday, :))
Sorry Pauline, Kev had to send to Kristy then she emailed it back to me to post... you know us oldies can't work these new fangle gadgets.. and my phone only makes calls.. Marian
Has daughter #2 moved up in place? Since coming up with this helpful idea for you, I thought she might be your #1 daughter now!-LOL-I love all the tips we get from our fellow Cuties. I'm so glad you have something now, to make it easier for you, to sew your bindings. Show us a better photo of the quilt when finished. The stripping shows fairly well, but because you're right about a glare,we can't see the blocks.-Toogie
Thanks Toogie.. moving up fast but don't tell her in fear of swelled head syndrome hehe no really a great kid. Gee you have great eye sight to be able to see the quilting, will show the quilt by end of week.. Marian
Hi Marionb, wow what a great idea. Thankyou for sharing. Regards Lorraine McNeill of Woodcroft South Australia
Great idea! I fold mine accordian style and put in a empty tissue box and set it floor. Love the scrappy binding.
Sound like a good way too, mine was in a tall Tupperware Container so the roll could unravel inside it as it was sewn.. but depended on amount and size of binding for it to work
GENIUS!! Love your quilt and your binding too. Thanks for the brilliant idea! ***4all***
Thanks for sharing, this will work for any type of long binding, lace, edging or rickrack one is using...thank Mom and daughter! I've been draping thinks like this over my shoulder and have a continual fight to keep it there. :-)))) Beautiful quilt by the way. :-)
Very good idea. I am always amazed how much I learn on this site. Thank you for posting
Love your quilt. I also wrap my binding around the toilet paper tube, but put a string through it to make a necklace, and hang it around my neck.
My sister uses this method and says it works well. I place mine on the extra thread pin.
Clever! This will also help keep my binding away from my cat, who loves it when I sew.
Genius! Great quilt, too!
Thank you it amazes me every day the ideas she can come up with.. shh just don't call her a seamstress she thinks it's swearing.. haha and she thought she would never get into sewing..
A great looking quilt, and the idea for the binding is one I will remember.
Anything to make life easier when sewing is a good thing. Well done and l love the quilt Marian. Love Chris
A neat idea that I will remember. You have a great daughter so thank her for her idea too
Thankyou I will certainly pass this on to her, for someone who thought they would never take up sewing she has learnt a lot even the lingo
