Cape made for 4yr old boy whose birthday is in a few weeks. Multi-size pattern by Kwik Sew which according to the back of the pattern is a division of McCalls. The photo isn't very good because I had no suitable model available to wear it.

Years ago I made his father a Ninja turtle outfit for Christmas ,his mother said he refused to take it off at bed time.

You are right ,I looked at the costumes in toys R Us & they were just printed cheap knit fabric which would snag or ladder after a few wears.

That is wonderful! I love Kwik-Sew patterns, they run truer to size and are not so fussy to put together!

Seeing he is really into Batman I thought this pattern will grow with him until he reaches size 12 yrs.It also has designs for Zorro ,Red Riding Hood & what I thought could be Draculas cape

It looks great! I bet he will be very happy! It's hard to sew without a model, that is me exactly, no one close to try it on as you go.

I found it hard to sew because I couldn't see what I was sewing .The fabric was black poly cotton poplin,it must have been the dye because I have never had so much trouble in seeing the black pieces before.
