Great job, Shirley! The children will be thrilled to get them. Also, you'll make 100 children happy in one go, wow!
Hugs, Lidia
WOW. What a kind and generous heart you have. Bless you. I am sure the children will love them.
What a wonderful gift for the children Shirley. That is an enormous amount 100 pairs wow! Do you hands get sore from all that knitting? You are right it's always better to give than receive. You are a very generous lady to do all that you do. Love Chris
Thanks Chris. The knitting is good for my arthritic fingers. It is when I do not knit that I feel the pain. I do enjoy making these little things and am trying to think of something a bit different for the next 12 month effort. Hugs Shirley
What a wonderful person you are. Your work is so neat.
Many thanks for your kind words. I try my best to be neat. My mother used to tell me if a job is worth doing it is worth doing properly. Good advice. hugs
I am so impressed by how much one person can produce and I am so happy that you did it for charity.........
Many thanks for your kind words. I will now start making for next year and a little at a time soon adds up. It is great to do something for others.
Fantastic Shirley! 100 pairs wow! Flowers for everyone! ~hugs~
Thanks Lorayle. The ladies at the drop off centre were very pleased with them. Said they don't get many mittens. These were done on 4 needles, so ne seams to annoy. I have knitted hundred's of beanies over the past 7-8 years so the mittens were a great change. Hugs Shirley
That's a lot of knitting. These are cheery colors.
My great-aunt for many years knitted mittens for the students of Bacon College in Africa. At registration each student would trace a hand on a paper and add his or her name. The college sent her the papers and she knitted a pair a day all around the year, sliding the name inside the mitten and looping the pair together to ship in time for cold weather. She made them for decades. What a mission.
Your Great Aunt did a wonderful job. Some days I would knit a pair but mostly about 1 a day. Thanks for your comments.
You are very busy, wish you can see some happy children if they get your gift.
Thanks. I have enjoyed making them and I would love to see the children open their boxes. I have seen them on DVD
They are so nice, and the handwarmers are so popular with the electronics of today.
Beautiful mittens. That is a lot of knitting. The children will love them.
Many thanks. They were done over 12 months and you don't notice how much knitting you have done until you are counting and packing them.
Love these, They will keep the little hands nice and warm Well done :)
They look very pretty. 100 pairs - that must have taken months! What a great contribution.
100 shoe boxes wow! I love the colors :)
Thanks. No I did not fill 100 Shoe boxes. I just make small things which can be used as fillers for the boxes when they are checked before leaving here.
