Nice...I also have this design and plan to make up these for my kiddles, too!
GASP...your aren't going to make these for those little girls are you? Say it isn't so! If you do that I'll have to make one for you! They aren't on Santa's naughty list, they are on his nice list.
Walmart usually sell little bags of Candy Coal at Christmas or you can make your own.

what about some big marshmallows, flattened a little bit, and dipped in chocolate?
Looks great and he does bring about a smile. If he was real I would have to tickle his feet.
I posted a picture of Coal Candy and a link if you want to make it yourself. Look in Chat as I had posted it originally in the wrong area. I was trying to add it all here with these cute bags, but didn't do it correctly.

Vickie is one of the member's of Cute. Look for projects under---- basketkase and you will find the link to all her designs. They are beautiful and well digitized...
Sorry I was so excited to get these done and post them I forgot everyone might need help identifying Miss Vicki. I'll try and do better, I promise. Thanks for the heads up Miss Jerry.
these are really cute bags! A beat seller item for craft shows for sure!~hugs~
Hi Leaha, this little critter surely makes one smile! Great sewing, love Chris
So very cute!!!!! Great job and I love the candy coal recipe!!!
Yea, it's a great sounding recipe, I may have to try it. I'm always up for a new recipe. Great design between you and Miss Bev. Thanks again. :-)
Sorry I hit submit before I added the link. Martha Stewart has a recipe for some coal candy.
you may be able to find some black candy in the Halloween Candy aisle at this time of year. I ordered black jelly beans online for mine
Thanks to both of you for the website and the candy ideas. I'm just thrilled they turned out so cute. :-)
Not sure where you live, but Walmart usually sell candy that looks like coal at Christmas time.
I'm in Middle USA, I hadn't got far enough to look for anything to go inside yet, but candy is good. I was actually looking for a real piece of coal for one of them! :-)
These were a bit hit for me this past Christmas. Sold lots of them with black jelly beans as coal. This is called Bev's Humbug because I had asked Vicki-basketkase what she thought a humbug looked like and this is what she came up with, I love this little guy.

hint-use a variegated thread on the Christmas bulbs and save 3 color changes
Miss Bev, I didn't know these were suggested by you! I love them and they were very fun to make. Thanks for the tip on the variegated thread. He is truly adorable! :-) Thanks for stopping by.
