There are good bosses around. My daughter's boss has sent her and another co-worker to San Franciso for a 3 day weekend all expenses paid.

His wife has gone with them. At dinner, my daughter and co-worker were given a card with a cheque for $1000, to spend on themselves. They were also given a Spa treatment.
Now that is what I call a good boss for showing appreciation for how hard they work for him. I never had a boss like this...

This is great to hear. All the years I worked I had nothing but wonderful bosses - I then became a boss of my own department. I wasn't able to spoil them but I made sure that they were treated with the respect they deserved.

Good for you. It doesn't take much to show you appreciate your staff. A kind word now and then, go a long way.

Here is a Husband and wife team who appreciate their employees. They also know they have a good team working for them and it is wonderful that they are telling them so.
They obviously know good reliable honest staff are hard to hang onto theses days and if your staff know you appreciate them they will be happy in their work and not look elsewhere.

Congrats to her and her co-worker! This boss deserves to be held up as poster boss for all the rest. Appreciation, encouragement and thank you are just to much to ask now days. Plus I don't think (going from the bosses I had) people skills are in the kids that are bosses now days. It's the little people/workers that make the bosses look good and are the back bone of their success. So happy for the two ladies and hope they have.had a wonderful time being pampered!!!! Your daughters success is a reflection of her wonderful upbringing. :-)

Thank you Leaha for all your kind words. I am proud to say that both my kids grew up to be hard working responsible adults. I was a single Mom, so it means so much more to me that they did learn my values.
My daughter pretty much runs the place when he is away and is always one step ahead of what he needs.

Good for you. I also was lucky and had a few good boss's, so they are out there somewhere. Just with more would realize the more appreciation you show, the harder the employee's will work...

Nice! I am sure it was well deserved...and her boss will get a lot of mileage out of it as they will continue to work even harder...win, win, for both!

I totally agree. Why can't other bosses see that if you show a little kindness, respect etc. your employees will do a much better job and work that much harder. We all like to be appreciated and it doesn't take much...just a little thank you for all you do..

I never expected an expenses-paid trip or $1000 gift check, but some respect on a daily basis for the fine work I did would have gone a long way to making me happy to work for him. I can't honestly saw I ever had a good boss.

I agree, it doesn't take much to show appreciation for a job well done. Just a kind word or two once in awhile does go a long way. I always taught my kids and Grandkids, the Golden Rule...

I have never had a good boss. She is so lucky. It is good to hear there are some bosses out there that appreciate their hard working help! Suzanne

Me either, there is more employee abuse than employee appreciation in some companies. It is refreshing to hear this story! Thanks.

This is why I posted it. So much negativity in the world, I thought something positive needed to be shown..

He has been good to her, but she does work and has things organized so well, he knows things are done properly when he isn't there.
