If you are truly still stuck, Google "pirate" and then go to images. You'll have more ideas than you know what to do with. But something will "click" in your brain and you'll know exactly what you have to do. Do you have a wig that he could wear so he has long hair with a bandana? Good luck with what you decide. If you need to see pictures of the pirate boots you may try looking up Pirates of the Caribbean on the internet. Generally they were black knee high boots. Hopefully you can make almost a cuff for the boot that would fold over over the top part of his boot and can be made long enough to give some extra height to the boot, plus cover up a bit in case they are screaming cowboy. Hope you both have a great time!
A colorful vest also to go over the white shirt and if has boots, make some inserts that would hang over live the boots were folded down.

For a pirate, a bandanna, white shirt with rolled sleeves and a penciled in mustache. Maybe a cardboard sword, boots if he has them. He is all set!!!
I don't think he will carry a sword unless I can find a ready made tomorrow, boots are cowboy will they work?
