11/1/14 Good evening all. Just returned from an Anita Goodesign Embroidery Party event and had a wonderful time. So good to be with like-minded people, talking shop and looking at pretty designs, stitching out pretty projects. If you get an opportunity, go to one. It was such fun.

Two design ideas I picked up - A t shirt for Halloween with witch design plus words "I know how to drive a stick". Also, saw a big bear rug in brown minky with red heart and reverse was patchwork. I believe she said it was a Butterick sewing pattern. Everyone wanted to hug it.

Actually there are six educators doing workshops around the country at once! And she is actually Steve Wilson, a he. Anita was his sewing grandmother! It was great fun.

I went to the same party a month or so ago. It was worth it. The 2 CDs have a LOT of beautiful designs and you get a booklet with all of the instructions for all of the projects. I'm glad you got to go.

That sounds good. I don't think anything like that ever happens here.

The shipping of the 35 or so boxes of displays and sale items, plus the air fare would probably be prohibitive! However, there is the internet! Onward toward Christmas!

I have to disagree with you on this. I attended what they called and "Embroidery Party" and found that it is really a sales event. With 3 people to a machine, no one really got to do very much. And none of the projects were finished items. They were all quilt blocks and I am not a quilter so you can imagine how disappointed I was. And again it was 90% sales and maybe 10% sewing. I felt it a big waste of time and money and so would not recommend it. Nan W

Maybe it's changed a bit since then.

My experience was like yours mrskiki, however I think it was because the dealer putting this event on had over booked or over estimated the turnout. It was a small store and had 75 to 100 people show up. Space was indeed limited as were machines and time.

The 2 I have been to were wonderful. Yes, they are selling things, however you do not have to buy. We each had our own machine. So I agree with Leaha, I think it depends on the dealer.

I recently found that my local store will be having monthly AG parties,. I plan on going with Christie to the November event.

I attended one several years ago and loved it. Hope you had fun. Did they offer specials on Steve's designs. The designs stitch out so good. I love to watch them stitch out as he is a master digitizer.. Kay

Yes, great specials and I won two prizes! Yes, I love Miss V's digitizing too - fun to watch stitch, as you say..
