I have decided to go away for Christmas this year rather than spend it on my own as this will be the first one since hubby passed away.

I am being especially brave as i will be joining a group of people i have never met before and doing something i have never done before.
Ok i can go to daughters for the main day but that leaves the rest of the festive season alone.
So what have i decided to do. I am going away in my tiny motor home just 15 miles from home to park in a field without electrics. I will be joining in with a group of folk singers and musicians. This will be one big laugh because i am tone deaf and do not play any instrument.
I have only to do my breakfast as other meals will be provided for . there will be a communal hall that we can assemble in and i will take turns in washing up and preparing meals . The time away covers from the 23-28th of December and will cost me all of £55.00 Yep that includes the meals and even Santa will be calling with a gift . We purchase and gift wrap a gift and give it to Santa to give out. this is to cost no more than £5.00 and each female gives one gift and each male gives a gift for their own gender.
I have met the organiser who asked if i could play anything so informed him that i could play a comb and tissue paper wish i had one of the buzzer things we had a kids. He then asked if i could sing. I then had to explain i was tone deaf and the only way i can carry a tune is if he writes it down and i put it into my bag.
I can tra la la ok and i can line dance. so it should prove to be a fun time and totally different from anything i have ever done before.
I am going to make me a couple more fur hot water bottle covers so that both myself and my two little dogs can have something to keep us warm at night time .
If it gets too cold i can always run for home but hopefully with enough warm jumpers and coats for the dogs we will enjoy ourselves.
Now just have to decide what to do for the gift..

Good on you Annie, I think this will be a wonderful adventure, as they say nothing ventured, nothing gained. Enjoy the time with all your folk singers and musos and sing like only you can. Everyone can sing, maybe not in tune, but hey, we are all given a voice to praise with, it doesn't matter what it sounds like. I hope you have a blast and meet lots and lots of new friends. Can't wait to hear about all your adventures. Just remember all us Cuties are there with you, love Chris.

"If you never never go, you'll never never know!

well there is supposed to be a pantomime too that should cause a bit of extra fun. and as this is a Brit tradition then even more cause for laughter, the priniciple boy is a girl and the baddies are all men dressed as ugly women and there can be a few remarks made that can be taken two ways I.E. In Cinderella the Prince always has big balls .....

Sounds like a great Christmas trip. I would love to do something like that. Hope you have a great time listening to all the singing. You never know there may be some songs you will be able to join in with. A jam session we used to attend there was a chap who was always off key and a line behind everyone else, but he just loved it. Sadly that jam session has finished and the one that took its place is just not the same. Hugs Shirley
