About 2 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with CD.

So I put my embroidery machine away and started to learn how to bake gluten-free. I'm still learning but also have mastered muffins, cookies, cakes, cheese bread, and now pie crust...hooray!
This is the first lemon meringue pie I have made since going GF...
I hope it tastes as good as it looks....:)

Thanks, around here we have little or no options for GF food...I have to travel 2 hours from home to find GF flours and ingredients or order online...

We have a professional chef in our family who has started up a cake business & does gluten free cakes. She said the worst thing about doing gluten free ,is that everything has to be wiped down making sure there is no trace of anything that could contaminate the gluten free items eg wheat flour.Nothing else gets made until all gluten free items are made.
I have tried her cakes & wouldn't have known the difference if she hadn't told me.
Aldi have a lot of gluten free products at the moment.

I bought all new appliances, kitchen tools etc. for this reason. I no longer bake with wheat flour... only GF flour and ingredients...
Sounds like Aldi has the right idea :)

My husband was diagnoses with CS (celiac Sprue disease) about 10-12 years ago. I have given up making breads and pie crust from scratch as there are many wonderful mixes available now. I love most of his GF foods and never buy refular pasta anymore. His favorite bread is "the Gluten free Pantry's Favorite sandwich bread mix or Glutino's Favorite sandwich bread mix". Glutina has changed the formula for the bread mix and I find I have to add one additional spoon of oil to it so the bread does not crumble. Would love to see some of your GF recipes as I am always looking for newer better ones! Your pie looks delicious! By the way, I have used GF Bisquick to make Imposible pies using the regular biscuit recipes and so far they have worked great! Our favorite is the Impossible Pumpkin pie one!

Yummy! You are a great mom to do this for your daughter. Be sure to share your recipes when you perfect them. Maybe a cookbook in your future?

Looks great Loosie, for 4 years I've been on Gluten Free diets due to a massive wheat allergy - to my amazement it disappeared this year in about April and now I'm allergic to Soy! Would you believe there is Soy in so many products these days, so I just make my own recipes, no packaged products now? Love Chris

P.S. Gluten Free diets are great anyway!

Soy is in everything... we are also going non-GMO and it's hard to find processed food without it...

Great going you'll be an expert in no time.. I have heard however if your not intolerant you should also add gluten products to your diet, so while your caring for your daughter remember to take care of yourself too.. Marian

Loosie I am sorry to hear about your daughter but I am not sure what the initials CD stand for in your bit of the world. The food looks good
