What a great idea! We have a huge box of doilies that are sitting in the closet. I might just take a few and do this! Thanks for the inspiration!
Sounds like you are on quite a roll. These are fantastic/lillian
This is a wonderful remembrance for them, clever idea, simple yet pretty and elegant too. I'll be starch would also work, soak it in the solution, then let air dry over a bowl. Hmmmm?
Thanks Leah for more tips. I only had glue on hand . Will try srarch mabey next time :)
I think that was a great idea for them. They are lovely. I have not done this in years. You could choose a fsl angel and add her or some fsl onto which would make it added special. I have thought about doing that to save the extra stitching time involved making bowl.
A skill I haven't seen in a while.. it has turned out beautifully
That is so thoughtful of you and I know they will treasure it. Great idea and well done.
GORGEOUS! I was at my op shop this afternoon and bought one for a singlet for Delphi, but mine is going to be cut up! They will love these, love Chris
Now they are going to think, 'why did I give them away?" This is a nice idea. What kind of glue did you use? Did you use a real bowl for the mold? I am curious since I have never seen anyone do this.
Thanks Toogie. I just used wood/graft glue i had on hand. A small paint brush and a glass mixing bowl to suit. Be sure to cover bowl with cling wrap 1st. Took close on 24hrs to dry completly. Make sure the doily is well covered in glue :))
