Toogie, have you tried the hunting hand warmers (little packet) that would fit in your mitten? They might help when you have to go outside.
neat mittens Bet they will be so warm no more chilly fingers! Suzanne
These are excellent and look fantastic! Hope they help you.
they are wonderful Toogie & I do hope that they help you!~hugs~
These look great. Look like they are the perfect fit. Now for some with embroidery. Hugs Shirley
Just finished another pair, but still no embroidery, wouldn't show up because the fabrics so loud.
Toogie, machine wash warm, tumble dry are the directions on the Insul-Bright. It would soften them up considerably.I knew you could do it! They look great.
Well, thanks for the 'nudge',push,or shove-lol- or encouragement from you and others, I made them amazingly easy. I don't know what's wrong with me, but its like I was scared to try mittens. Afterall, it's just fabric and I had everything here already...I will try washing, to soften. I could have made them a bit narrower, so they would look better not so wide, but I don't want my fingers cramped. Thanks for having more confidence in me than I had.-Toogie
OMG!!! Love them... My hands stay cold in the winter. I will try these!!!!
You Ladies are so talented. I am glad I found this site, not only great free designs, but Great Cuties who share all their ideas!!!

That is exactly what Cuties try to do. Someone is always there to give a helping hand. These are amazingly easy to make. Keep the video tutorial up and pause it as you work through your steps. That's what I did and you can go back, too if you need to. Good luck with yours Kathy and let us see your results. Toogie
WOW, how fun and wonderful mittens.. Thank you so very much for sharing your tip and the information as well as the site, this is a new site to me and well worth looking around in..
Yes, I agree and need to take time to go back and look around more. Thanks for looking
They look fantastic. I hope they keep your hands nice and warm.
These look extremely professional! Well done.
Oh, your mittens look great!!! And what a good idea with the Insul-bright!! These are great!
These look fabulous and thank you for sharing and I do hope you will update us as how your hands do with them. I have made long johns with fleece and myself a half slip with fleece, scarfs, hats, but not mittens guess it is about time as I know fleece works great in cold weather.
My niece gave me a fleece jacket a few years ago, to keep me warm. It's my main jacket I use, because it is warmer. My son and DIL gave me some fleece pj's. I am warm enough in the bed since I sleep with a human heater. lol I just wear the pjs during the day, at home when I don't have to go out.
i can't find these on her site can you help me please??
After you get the drop down menu if you will click on bags and accessories they are on that page also.. her fabric is a brown on cream design.. hope this helps.. Lots of fun things here
Hmmm I need pair of these this morning, temps in the 20s. Nice job Toogie/Lillian
Wow, I really appreciate the link, I am going to be making these for sure. Great job!
They are so easy and if you don't have to use the insulbright they probably would look cuter. Like Kay said, Go for it!
Good job. Suggestion for the next ones. Make then a little longer so they either go over or under your coat. Have a pair of gloves that have that and Love them.
They may not look long in the photo, but i think they are going to be long enough for me to do just that. The only thing that i would do differently is placing the elastic. i put a row about where i thought she meant. i then tried the half on and it seemed not to fit on my wrist. instead of ripping that row of elastic out, i added another elastic leaving about 1/4 inch space in between. this then sat better on my wrist. it may be because of the bulk, though.
These are so nice, they should keep your fingers warm. They look better than retail mittens, your sewing is top notch !
I am wondering did you stay up late or just get up early? lol! I forgot what state you live in, we're early birds and I go to bed with the chickens almost always.
Thanks,Sharon. I think this was a good pattern and tutorial. The thumb piece is comfortable, not binding for me.....I was off yesterday and slept a little late for me, so last night late, I got in here and sewed them up. Very quick to make..I just wasn't sleepy. I wasn't hungry yesterday either (i need more days like that-lol) but I do need my beauty sleep....a lot of it-lol
I'm proud of you. These mittens look great. I hope they work as great as they look. Keep a supply of the hand warmers on hand for extra cold days.
Lol- I am laughing because usually I can make most anything, but for some reason this item had me intimidated. I am surprised how easily they came together.
Those mittens look great, Toogie, and they look extra warm as well.
Hugs, Lidia
These look like to foot the bill, will be interested in how they go.. keep us informed.. I might have to make one for my curled hand, it feel freezing in winter..Marian
They are stiff because of the Insul-Bright. I wondered if I washed them they might soften up, but I don't know if it would decrease the 'value' of the Insul-Bright. It should be washable, I would think.
Toogie, machine wash warm, tumble dry are the directions on the Insul-Bright. It would soften them up considerably.
Interesting Toogie. Hope they work well for you. Just wondering what time it is with you as its 10.30am UK time
If this first pair works well for you then you can decorate all the other pairs you make
lol- I did stay up late and make these. We had company off and on yesterday, and a BIL that ate with us last night, so it was late when I got in my sewing room. I am hoping they work, but in the meantime, I still think I would like to try a pair of those silver gloves and knee socks you found.
