Hi all, I am new here and I hope you all can help me with my digitizing! First, I want to learn to do toile. I'm sure it's easy, but until I do it, it is a little confusing. I have Floriani. Second, I want to get better at my FSL. I've done a few, but I want them to be awesome! I'm sure I will need plenty of digitizing advice. Thanks in advance.

I don't have your software so advice can only be more general as tools differ from one brand to another - I have Embird and Husqvarna software and things are done in very different ways, even the differences between the upgrades of HV, the old system 5, system 6, 3D, 5D and now 6D were considerable.

You may think toile is easy, it certainly is the most time-consuming. You can start the same way you do a redwork design, but then the shading has to be done by hand. You might develop your own shortcuts depending on the software you use, but don't underestimate the time it will take. Start with a simple apple and do the shading - I would advice a drawing tablet to get a more comfortable hand movement. The only tutorial I could find was a Husqvarna one on their Sketch module - see link.
And as always: start by stitching out a good design - Embroidery Library has lovely ones - either slowly on your machine or do a virtual stitch out in your software. It will teach you a thing or two about pathing.

As for FSL there are lots of tutorials to be found on the internet, but it would be easier to answer a specific issue you have if you showed an example of a design you have done and indicate what you want to achieve next.

Welcome to Cute. You are now a "Cutie". We have so many people with all different machines and software that some one should be able to help you with answers as your questions arise. We have helped each other for years and several of our members have developed their own websites and we are so proud for them. Welcome again! Kay

Every so often, mops has given us a digitizing mini-lesson. You could find this by searching on her name and Cute and digitizing. She knows her stuff!

Hi and welcome to this great site. We have quite a few digitisers on here and I'm sure they will only be too happy to assist you with your questions. I'm from Australia but do not digitise. Where are you from?

Martine (mops) one of our moderators is a digitiser. Vicki (basketkase) is also one. Yoriko (manami) is an Australian digitiser. We also have Ricky (mpo14011) from South Australia. I'm sure there are others on here who can help you. Good luck, love and blessings Chris
