Work in progress. I fancied a change from a conventional Christmas tree. This is cut from a coppiced ash tree and is around 7 feet tall (after quite a lot of pruning!) I have made some rules (no tinsel, no baubles and no fairy lights.) We do have a second tree, tiny still and growing in a pot which will have all three!

The tree is almost complete now - just waiting for some origami creations which won't be here until Christmas Eve.
Loralye didn't start a thread for Christmas Tree pictures so why not add yours here?

It doesn't clutter the room.. love your tree stand though, I must admit I love a fully decorated tree I have an 8ft one which we take some of the back branches off to fit the corner better and my daughter doesn't like to over decorate my SIL's tree you can't see for the decorations but gee it looks great..

I see your hearts have found a place too. I love your tree. These are quite popular here at Easter, but I've never seen one at Christmas. Much nicer than its needle shedding cousins.

Mike was sceptical when I sent him out with a saw to cut the one I had selected, but he now agrees it was a great idea. You can actually see the decorations!

Is there chocolate hanging in there? If so, it is perfect!

No chocolate I'm afraid - that might attract too much attention from the dog!

quite unique & I'm sure it suits to a tee. I quite like it! I think we should start a post of the Christmas trees from all over the world so we can all see what they look like? What do you think~hugs~

My daughter sent me this picture of her office Christmas tree.
Can you guess
1. Her favourite colour?
2. Her favourite craft?
3. What the company she works for does?

Wow, Sue this is my kind of tree........I have to enjoy others as with these 8 cats I can't have one this year......(I know the kittens would destroy it) After Christmas am going to look for one that hangs on the wall......

Luckily our dog doesn't show an interest in the tree although she does unwrap any presents left where she can reach!
We used to have an artificial "half tree" which hung on the wall. I thought it was a great idea, but I haven't seen one since.

Take the top of an old tree, cut off the back limbs & make your own??? I bet your DH could come up with a way to do that!

I love the simplicity of your new tree. And so much easier to than keeping up with the pine needles. Will you keep it and decorate it for Valentine's Day and other holidays?

No, here in UK Valentine's Day etc are not big celebrations (only as a commercial opportunity!)
