Kim, it is absolutely stunning! Love the color combination.
I missed this first time up. I am a want to be quilter but not sure I could be true to the rules as I have fabrics of all sorts to get ride of which are not 100% cotton. Do any of you use what you have rather than buying a new stash for each project? Kay
Kay, don't let the "rules" stop you...there aren't any rules that can't and aren't broken! Use what you have and go for it...you will be surprised at the result. When I started quilting I machine quilted everything....back then, machine quilting was just not acceptable or even "tolerated"...You should have seen the looks I got...well, look at us now!!!
Stunning! I've only recently started working with quilt blocks ITH and am enjoying it
Hugs
Lovely! I've tried the Jenny Haskin's method, also, on a pillow, and it was a bit cumbersome but fun with the bias tape I made (I made it half an inch wide) and used a decorative stitch.to attach it.
Thank you...we must be using a different Jenny technique as these do not have any bias tape nor sashing...I will have to go back to see her other method...the one you must have used...
I missed it the first time around. This is a gorgeous table runner. I love everything about it.
These are absolutely Beautiful. You are amazing...
Kathy
This is beautiful. Like you I have yet to find a block joining technique that I rea!ly like or that I'm comfortable with . They just don't turn out as pretty as this you have just done/Lillian
Thank you, Lillian...these blocks were joined using the Jenny Hasking "Jenny Join" technique...if I had to pick a "favorite" ITH block joining technique, this would probably be at the top...I do not like the many of the ITH block joining techniques that I have tried so far...still searching...
I cann't find words your work is amazing and so beautiful. Thank so much for sharing. Amitiés de France
'Blast from the past' so to speak, but I had to resurrect this post, as I ask in Sewing for quilters to respond to my post. This is an awesome job. I can't find a thing wrong with this, it's so beautiful! I don't know where you got these beautiful designs and fabrics, nor how large your hoop is, but everything looks perfect.-Toogie
Thank you, Toogie...I digitized these ITH blocks so I could test the Jenny Join technique to piece the blocks together...I like it, but am still on the fence about joining ITH blocks and having them look as nice as the traditional ones where the top is pieced and then sandwiched with the batting and backing...Of all I have tried, this would be at the top of the list...but I am still on the fence with ITH block joining...I think I used my 8x8 hoop...
I think they are beautiful! Love the colors u used as they could go anywhere!
Thank you...these were leftovers from another full size quilt...I was really into browns and golds!
C'est magnifique, j'adore. Les couleurs des tissus, et l'association des couleurs des fils sont très réussies. Bravo. Bisous
Very pretty.. I did a Cathedral window quilt for my queen size bed all by hand many years ago. This is so much easier and faster now a days. Suzanne
Thanks, Suzanne...you are right..the embroidery machine does most of the work...
Love the colours and fabrics will look amazing when finished..
I don't quilt but I love what you have done!
Hugs, Lidia
Really beautiful . I could never do that kind of quilting. Wish I could. I do my work free hand with occasional rulers. You would need a computer to get such detailed quilting.
I tried making one of those quilt as you go. Didn't care much for it. But that is just me. I have a friend who loves doing them.
Ah, but you could...these blocks are totally done ITH..your embroidery machine does all the work...then sewn together with a sewing machine...
Another beautiful piece! Is there a link to find this also? Thanks!
V ery beautiful. Love colors. Thank you for sharing. Amitiés de France
Oh, my this is simply wonderful!!! I love the colors - what talent you have!!! Hugs, Laura*
Like this runner too, which hoop size do you use?
Your choise of colors is great
These blocks were stitched and totally quilted ITH in an 8x8 hoop with batting and backing fabrics all ITH...the joining of the blocks was done on a sewing machine...
where can I find this pattern? love the colors, beautiful.
These are gorgeous, love the fabrics and combinations.
Truly gorgeous, Kim.......what a talent for quilting you have!
wow Kim this is terrific I really like them & hope that you will share. ~hugs~
I am with you on the Haskins way, I watched a video and thought not for me. I like the hoop sisters method but I think the backing should be a separate piece and then free motion in places to stabilize it.
Beautiful work, love the colours !
Thanks...I am still on the fence with the block joining method...Sharon Schamber's technique is very similar to Hoop Sisters...
hi like the blocks lots of ideas on how to use i have a question about another project that you did the nail file holder is the pattern that you used still available and where can i get it thanks
I love them!!! They look like they were done the ole fashion way.
Thanks, but ITH is so much easier after you get the pattern digitized correctly..
Very pretty! This would be a beautiful quilt. The colors go so well together and would be perfect anywhere.
I like the blocks, interesting must look at it
