This is gorgeous! And you are a star... I saw this pic on Apex as well!
Toogie this is great. Saw it on Apex before I saw it here/LilliN

Great poncho, she will never be lost when she wears this--great for keeping an eye on her. Still don't have the pics sent to me by hubby for that sleeping bag but promise it is done and I'm thrilled with it. Put up for a Christmas present.
Glad you "got 'er done"-lol-Merry Christmas to the little one too. You're right, its hard to lose sight of her, in this bright yellow!
Que bonito y muy bien trabajado, el terminado de la prenda se ve muy fino, felicidades.
Such a great job! I also use a hooded rain poncho but nothing like this beauty. Mine is a cheapie plastic from Big Lots. I buy them by the bushels so to speak. I always keep them handy in a bag or glove box.
This is so pretty.
Thank you for looking at Avery's rain-poncho. Your idea is great, that way you're never caught in the rain,so to speak.
It turned out fabulous Toogie!! Your granddaughter looks really happy with it too. :-)
hugs n love, Meg
Meg, unless she's in pain, she is always happy. The world would be a better place, if more people had her disposition. Thank you for helping with this letter placement. I am so pleased with the result. Merry Christmas, Meg-Toogie
Wonderful!! Beautiful Yellow perfect for rainy weather.. you can't say you didn't see her coming
Cute, warm and now dry....what could be more fun. Lovely!
Great idea and wonderful execution. I made a pul hooded cape for my GD. She has worn it for 2 1/2 years and is now quite fond of it. I never thought to line it. Great idea. Should be quite cozy.
I told my daughter she needs one, lined only with a cotton fabric, for the hot rainy days. That is what is good about a cape or poncho, versus a coat, they can wear or fit into them longer.
Wow this is great. You did grand job on this. Not a submarine a beautiful girl with wings like the angels in the background picture before you put this on.
Thanks, your imagination is better than mine, to go from a yellow sub to an angel..lol- The angels on the wall are decorations in her classroom, but they are pretty. She is at school here.
Oh, Toogie, I believe you have created a VERY marketable item. You did a wonderful job and I can see Miss Avery is thrilled with it. I bought the Victor font, too. I just love it. It's totally stunning on bath towels, also. Congratulations on a job VERY well done!
Thank you jrob and I do appreciate this site, for helping provide tutorials, for those of us who need things like this. Would this be something yours could use? I think it will be really warm with the fleece and she says you can split the back to tuck in and not over the head rest/handles.
My grandson isn't in a wheelchair, but he does have a limp on his left side and his foot turns in, especially without a brace. I'm always interested in solutions for disabilities, though. When your heart is involved, you can't help it. I'm going to show this to my friend who is a PT. This is just so unique. She will be as snug as a bug in this wonderful poncho.
My daughter is always looking for something to help Avery. Your friend may have you making these for patients. My daughter used to work Pediatric PT, but now works with all ages, in home health.
Looks brilliant. The monogram looks great and she will be nice and dry and warm when she has this over her. Great idea. Would probably be good for toddlers in their strollers as well. Lyn
Great job, Toogie! Love the font you have chosen. Avery looks so lovely and well protected.
Hugs, Lidia
Rest assured, she should be warm and dry. I love Apex fonts and this was offered in our freebie section, I believe, at the time I got it. It was my first font this large size.
I loved making lots of "trials" for my kids and look forward to doing so with grandkids. They usually take the "fittings" all in stride. If nothing else, great memories are made!
You are an amazing woman and I don't know who is more fortunate, you to have Avery or Avery to have you. She will be the hit of her school with this poncho. I agree, you should go into business with this.
I can answer that quick enough..me to have Avery!!!! You think too highly of me, I am just a normal, loving gram who does anything for this child....Don't have time or nerves for a business.lol
It has turned out perfectly! You have done a wonderful job with the monogramming placement & reducing it too. all in all A+. ~hugs~
Thanks for the good grade! It really is not hard . The hardest was getting a comfortable fit for her head.
Avery is one of the cutest merry men I ever seen. Great sewing job she will love it.
Well done.. She may look like she is a very cute part of Robin Hood's Merry Band in photo but she will look like a ray of Sunshine when she puts this on..
Very creative idea to make the 2 letters a little smaller.. Love it and thank you for that tip.. Will certainly be using in future. Thanks for the link also..
A ray of sunshine sounds better than a yellow submarine....The last name initial, in the middle, is usually a little larger. Since all were the same size I had to reduce the AC, for Avery Claire to make a difference. When I brought the A up and the C down it made the design too large for my 5x7 so then had to resize the whole A S C. It ended up being about 4 3/4 inches square.
Looks like you had no troubles at all, well done :)
The only trouble was deciding what size to cut her hood and neck opening. The pattern only had one size but I resized for her. When I finally made up my mind it went together quite nicely.
Like the result, the monogram came out great now.
I am glad you like it. It does look better than some of the first placements. Thanks for all your help and sorry I misunderstood, at first, what you meant for me to do. Did you see my reply to you?
What an awesome cover up and made with love!!!
Truer words were never spoken...at least the part about made with love. Merry Christmas Vicki-Toogie
great result Toogie, she will get lots of use out of this. Thanks for sharing the site as well
Thank you for the advice with the PUL. Sometimes we do our way and we live and learn. I like to learn from others and just enjoy living. Makes things a lot more simple.
Toogie, I am betting you could go into business making these!! Its awesome! Merry Christmas! k
I agree. You understand the needs. Just don't cut yourself short on price!
This piece of PUL cost me $17, plus tax, but I overbought about 12 in or 1/3 yard. The fleece was $8. something plus tax.... I don't think I want to make any for sale. This stuff was sliding all over the place when I was trying to cut it out. I guess because it was such a large piece, I don't know.
That is beautiful - I really LOVE how your monogram looks and may have to "borrow" you replacement style.
If you look in Community/Embroidery you can see all the ways I tried it. I received lots of help and opinions, from other Cuties here, and decided with these initials this looked more pleasing.
Great job...this will certainly come in handy!!
Yes, it will come in handy, with the rains we have been having. Her teacher came on the bus this afternoon, when I tried it on her, and said she wish I would give sewing lessons-ha ha- Then I wouldn't have time to do this.
