I have found fitting new needles into my 650 tricky so my method is to ask my son in law as while he was at Uni studying he worked for a business that carried out customised machine embroidery on hoodies, uniforms and so one. He is a wiz at it. Unless the needles are fitted correctly there are problems ( this is according to me when I have mis fitted)
Thank you I was now thinking along these lines myself ,I will try tomorrow with better light, wish I had your son in law He is a gem to keep..
yes he is a gem but sadly is not on the doorstep. he doesnot know but there will be a needle change when they come next weekend.
I tried other needles and it worked fine,I had put a new needle in one so maybe a dud will retry when I get time I have made a pigs ear of what I was doing lucky only small item so nothing lost, just a lot of time wasted.
Thank you for your support This is when I miss not having a sewing friend. But love this site you are lovely people..
Have you checked to make sure the bobbin case area is clean that helps with my machine.
Hi Bernadette,
My Brother was doing the same thing - it is currently in the hospital and the Tech phoned stating that it is a spring that activates the sensor that needs to be replaced. It will work as long as you sit there and press the start button - not fun as I finished a FSL design doing just that. You will have to take it in to a Tech. Sorry the news isn't better.
I can vote for this...same thing happened to me...I'm sure it' the sensor
Hi, are you using a pre wound bobbin in a plastic case L. For some reason my PR1000 does not like that bobbin, and I will get this message.
My machine likes pre wound cardboard but not plastic!
Berny another thing is remove the bobbin and case and make sure it is in the right way! I've got a Brother Quattro and the bobbin will only go one way otherwise breaks and bird nests etc. Turn off machine and let it rest for a while and begin again. Check your manual to see if there are any troubleshooting areas and keep trying. I hope it will be something simple, love Chris
I have found that I can solve this by wrapping the thread around the tension dial twice. Hope this helps.
Try running a length of un-waxed dental floss through the threading just as if you were threading the machine. Sometimes bits of thread gets caught where we can't see it and this will help to loosen and pick it up. I know others will be through soon with other ideas. I hope you get it working soon.
