Find a printer and ask for his end trims. You'll get lots of pretty colors and textures, but mostly small rectangles. When I taught school the Dad of one of my students was a printer and he gave trims to me by the boxload to keep from trashing it. I had a $-0- art budget, so this helped quite a bit!
Thank you for the idea. I still have two large boxes with letter size paper and cardstock from a printer (actually from the local jail that stopped their printing department) and I gave away about half a dozen.
This week I made monoprints with latex to get more colours and texture, so one box of paper is now a stumbling block in my sewing room. :)
My problem is space!
Isn't it fun? Love your owl! I got the silhouette having cutting fabrics in mind, but then got obsessed with card making. Unfortunately, there's still only 24 hours a day.
You'll make it fit.. at least it is flat so not much room needed.. Marian
Lovely work and I am sure that you can include it with the other work that needs doing
Great job!! Nothing wrong with wanting more colored paper!!! It just is a statement of your creativity!! Hugs to you, Laura*
Thanks. If that's a statement for my creativity it seems to be a bit chaotic at the moment and filling a big part of the house :).
But without practice and supplies, how will you ever learn how to use the machine and all of it's potential? I don't think you have wasted any time or taken away from your duty at all. Experiment and have lots of fun. You are doing so well learning how to use it.
Thank you. I'll list and maybe even print all the excuses you girls have given me and read them when I need to convince myself I can go shopping for more.
Nice job on these, Martine...and I totally understand the need for more!
Thank you. I might try to convince myself that it is for practice purposes only as fabric is more expensive than paper :)
