I would like to make something special for a dear friend whose hubby passed away suddenly a couple of weeks before Christmas, but need a few suggestions as I am still a little in shock myself and, as it has been thunderstorm weather here, I have had a few extra migraines, which haven't left me very imaginative.
I have just finished a cozy for my coffee press. I just need to sew it up and it's ready to keep my coffee hot.
That's easy, a Christmas present I didn't get finished in time for Christmas. LOL!!!!
I am going to try my first time embroidery on face washers, if I don't mess them up too much I will graduate to hand towels, THEN, I will go for the big fellas and try embroidering on towels.
I'm making holders for carrier bags I made some early last year but friends are needing more. They have a great design on the front of an old lady on the front and the wording old bags running down the side. Will post when done
I've been productive my youngest daughter asked if I would embroider on some towelling cloths for her, she prefers these to teatowels, will post a photo soon. Next book bags 2 for gs.. Marian

It's between a blouse for me, cushions for my glider rocker or FSL, but first I have to finish my granddaughter's dress and grandson's tie to match his sister's dress. Finished grandson's vest before Christmas, but not the tie. Just had to measure the length of the shoulder straps and then hem her dress, but had to wait for her to try it on. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. LOL
I am trying to figure out how to make sure that my machine stitches where I want it to stitch. So far I have stitched out two floral sprays in the CORRECT places and the correct alignment. Yippee!!
This piece of fabric will be lined with another embroidered piece or an already quilted fabric, then used as a cover for one of my machines.
It took ages to work out where to put the design and there are pencil lines all over the white fabric. Next step is some cross stitch designs to fill an area near the sprays.
Never much worried about placement with designs I have stitched out over the last few years, but now I am getting picky.
When I went to embroidery machine classes, I just followed what the teacher gave us to do and didn't always understand what I was doing. I am on a mission to understand what I am doing and make my stitch outs MY work.
oh i am trying that now and then when i get brave.
Sounds like you got the hang of it .Good for you hugs Carolyn
I'm not able to right now, as my machine is on the naughty list. I won't get it back for a week or ten days. I'm drooling over my designs instead, my keyboard is getting pretty soggy.
I should be organizing instead of stitching but I'll do that tomorrow or next week or maybe next month. lol
I want to try some cross stitch designs. I just recently purchased some covered button designs and I want to give them a try!! Hugs to you Bev!! Laura*
I am still waiting for my machine so I am behind 2 bookmarks. So as soon as it comes they are my to do list lol
Some fsl designs I bought in the Urban Threads sale.
