I have decided that my New Year's resolution is to try to stop saying I will do something about exercise and just go ahead and do it. To this end, I have decided to take a yoga for seniors class taught by a 70-yr. old! Never having done any yoga before, I'm both looking forward to it and just a little anxious. But I know it will definitely be good for me. Now if I can convince my sister to go, too...

I do a Yoga routine every morning when I first get up. The house is quiet and peaceful and I find it is a great start to the day. It helps keep me flexible and eases some of the creaks!
Go for it. If the teacher is a good one, they will help you to succeed.
BTW Don't expect to have to stand on your head!

Maureen, yoga will make you feel 10 years younger! I love my yoga classes. Some hints: Don't compare yourself to others in the class. They were in a first class one time, too. Give yourself at least 3 months before you judge whether you can do the classes or not. It takes about that long before your body responds to all of the cues the teacher is giving. There's a lot to keep up, but you can do it. Be sure the instructor knows that you are there for the first time and if she/he is a good instructor, they will give cues for a beginner, too.

I need to do do the same thing, just get on that treadmill and go. Enjoy the yoga class and make new friends.
