Good morning...ITS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS...

Michae'ls had the glass milk bottles on sale 2 for $1.00 reg. price $1.99 each. so i headed over there... went shopping spent $86.34 on items needed -forgot i had went to pick up the 120 bottles i needed for my daughter's wedding...anyway went over and got them and made another transaction...the little girl rang me up in the back of the store. other customers were waiting
so 1 bottle at a time had to print out (large receipt), well she said they were having a coupon where you saved $5.00 for every $25.00 you spent...Oh I saved you $20.00...I was tickled pink...Only $98.80 instead of $120.00 FOLLOW ALONG WITH THIS -STORE IS CROWDED AND I AM LATE FOR WORK... so off to work i go only to realize she charged me $0.99 per bottle instead of 2 for 1.00...I got to work and called her back... come in and she will take care of it....SO today i went in and a different woman helped me... I told her what had happened...She credited me back the $98.80 and scanned the bottle scew...$1.99..OK SHE SAID I will only charge you for 60 of the bottles (this was suppose to work ou to 2 for 1.00)...however the bottles then rang up at $0.50 each...you owe us $30.00 minus the $5.00 for the coupon..at this point i interrupt and tell her i need 120 at that price ..no she has it correct she says...now i beg differ...SO after going through my head on this I now owe them again...they are short 60 bottles in there cycle count and I AM NOT GOING BACK AGAIN...I will call them and talk to the manager instead of driving a third time

if these people could have gotten the whole thing straightened out in the first place I would have paid out a total of $60.00 (for the milk bottles) plus the $86.34 minus the $25.00 in savings from the coupons for the total of the 2 transaction..

Has anyone else had this happen to them...

Yes it has just happened to me on a much smaller scale while I was shopping for the Orphan Train (recommended by cuties) I bought it for $3.99 but it was audio, & I want to take it while I wait for Heather & read in the waiting room so I can't have sound so I called to explain the predicament & the fellow on the phone explained to me that I was getting both the audio & the printed version so I said well ok then no need to return it. He then returned it on me & put the just printed version on my kindle & charged me double the price! UGH! SO I went & got 2 freebies also help from cuties & now I won't get anymore till I cool off about it. I think eventually it happens to us all @least in your case the first girl was trying to help you out. we recently went to grocery store where they had a case of bottles (flavoured water) on sale 12 in the case for $9.99 which normally we pay 99 cents each it rang up @ $1.00 for the case we had two cases. When I tried to explain it was wrong to the clerk she thought I was crazy? She couldn't get her head wrapped around the fact that I said she wasn't charging me enough money!~hugs~

oh dear... well they make a lot of mistakes in my grocery too, so I always check, because it's always in their benefit, when they make a mistake... hope you got everything solved.

I have had similar things happen to sale and coupon items...especially at JoAnn's...and I shop their frequently...I always have to double check my receipt...and theirs are sooo very complicated to understand...too many "prices" for each sale item...and then you complicate it with coupons...but the sales and coupons are what draw me in...just have to be diligent all the time!

You are so right! I try to figure out my total before I get to the counter so I know if they have about the same as mine I'm good but I have had to go back a few times to get things changed! ~hugs~

I always check my receipts there. There are ewrrors lots of times. Wow that was really complicated for a simple transaction... Good luck! Suzanne

The thing you have to remember is that the computer (register) is king and the employee has no authority or control. Yes, it happened to me at Home Depot. Picked up the large Fiskars lopper for hedge cuttinig and swung through the register. The girl couldn't find the item by scanning or looking up the SKU number, even though there were probably 20 more of them in the shelves. After a long while of searching she gave me the $75 lopper at the $20 mini lopper price because it was the only way she could get her line moving again. Why didin't I say, I've changed my mind, I need two of those!!! hehehe. I call this whole problem the "New Efficiency".

As Chris said interesting. BUT if you had paid the correct amount the first visit then you would have made 'your killing'. Now you have had to re visit once or twice and waste your time, plus petrol so you have probably paid more than the pre reduced price. Hope you get sorted with out too much more hassle
