Didn't have a clue what to do for granddaughter #2 for Christmas. My daughter suggested framing pictures of Paris as GD #2 loves Paris. They visited France while her daddy was stationed in England in the Air Force. Well I didn't frame pictures of Paris. I found 4 designs on Emblibrary and resized them to fit frames. As with so many of Emblibrary's designs the stitch count was very high and the 4 pictures took over 15 hours of stitching time. GD#2 loves them and is still deciding how she wants them displayed on her bedroom wall. The top one with the violets has what looks like a passport stamp.

Creating a gift for someone isn't always as easy as it sounds, especially when you are trying to find something special to make them happy. These are fantastic and I'm sure they will be a keepsake for her. While EL designs are dense, that is what makes them so beautiful. Spending all that time was well worth it.

Thank you. I put extra stabilizer behind the cotton fabric to support the stitches.

Wow Becky, these are just fabulous and so well done. I find EL's designs very dense too. My grand-daughter Ophelie loves Paris too and still remembers going there with Amy and Steve when she was only 2 and a half! Every time she sees a picture of the Eiffel Tower she tells me what it is! Your grand-daughters are very lucky to have such a wonderful grand-mother who sews for them. Love Chris

Thank you Chris. When Hannah was opening the box she stopped with the first design (I don't know which one) and was studying it. Her mom, our daughter, knew there were more and prompted her to keep looking. One of her sisters offered to help (she has 4) and her mom and dad both jumped in to say, "No, let Hannah look". They say she studied each one before going on the the next. How lovely your granddaughter remembers her trip to Paris. I did put the designs in my editing software and removed small stitches.

I can see why she is so pleased with them. Well done. And now she has a special gift from her grandmother and special treasures to remember a special time.
