Please make sure all is well. I fell down the stairs a year ago and didn't think too much about it... I just had knee surgery to fix a tear. More complications arouse due to the time I did not go to the dr in the first place. I hope you are well.

Take care of yourself. I fell off a ladder last year painting the ceiling. I was not seriously hurt but it took me ages to get over the shock.

Yes trauma can make your sugar go sky high. Also being sick can. Wait a lillte bit to get over the trauma and then test your blood agian. Hope you heal quickly Suzanne

Yes, shock can even bring diabetes on. My mother had a knee replacement (no diabetes) ,when she went 3 months later to get the other knee done she had very bad diabetes. Dr said it was caused by shock from the first operation. I am a diabetic on Insulin. Not enough space here to write about it. LOL. Hugs Marg

I also have it, have had Charcot Foot as a happy little gift from diabetes, it affects the bones in your feet, breaking them. I was told if you get it you won't have the other foot get it, haha guess what? I told two Dr.'s who told me that, that it would happen to me. It did, less then 2 yr's later. BUT the main reason I am writing is this. My internet buddy from MI sent me an article online about taking Cinnamon cap;s. My A1C was 11. After taking the cinnamon cap's for 3 months, it came down alot!! Now for almost 2 yr's it has run right around 6. I swear, I don't have the site but do a search online about it. I have told my other Drs and nurses that I know to tell everyone to at least TRY it..can't hurt you. It's in the vitamin area of Walmart etc. Good luck and sorry this is a long read. Nan who has funny looking shoes and I still walk funny! LOL

I have never heard of Charcot Foot and I have been a diabetic for about 35 years. I have heard that taking Cinnamon will lower blood sugars. hugs Marg

Yes, stress, illness, shocks. It can be climbing during a cold, etc. and you don't notice, and then later wowie! Why it's so important to take care of yourself always, and take care of your feet, get your eyes checked each year! Love and take care. Be calm and return to better sugars!

if you get a lot of stress in your life, it can happen, i have been a diabetic for 20 yrs. , not many problems till a year ago, then it hit me ,more stress than i could handle, my husband of 40 yrs died in our bed of a heart attack, monthes later my 49 year old son who lives with me had a stroke, spent almost 2 mo.s in hospitals therapy, i stayed with him most of the time, home now but left side will always be affected, my sugar was off the charts several times, dr. said if i don't get it under control i could have a stroke, or go in a commai am better, i have my sewing and friends and lots of nice ladies at cute to help me. so slow up take care of your self better diabetices is not something to ignore, good luck dear, doris

Yes, stress can cause the blood sugar to jump even when you are eating properly. If you are not too sore from the fall, a walk around the block would help. If you don't get better, call your doc.

Can happen after shock, injury or illness. Take it easy for a while till you are under control again. Best wishes!!!

Oops, did you have a dietary lapse or did it just spike all on it's own? That's a scary thing. I'm so happy you didn't break any bones.
