Can anyone tell me what software you need to design a cross-stitch pattern for an embroidery machine? PE design can only make cross-stitch pattern designs in photo stich. I want to make patterns like the one on the picture.

Embird has a plug in for cross stitch.....you do need the basic Embird and then the cross stitch module...it works well...

Love this biscornu pattern, the white on red shown on Yoriko's site is so beautiful.

I used my 5D Cross stitch module to digitise this design. At the time I tried out Embird's cross stitch module too. It works the same: it is like colouring in graph paper. You can use an existing pattern - which may give copyright issues - or just have fun designing your own in the software, which is even easier than doing it on paper.

I have the Bernina software and with that comes a separate part where you can make cross stitch patterns.

The design is one from our own mops here on Cute and offered at the link to Yoriko's site. You might find more help in the Digitizing section as that is where most of our Digitizers check for posts. You could also ask mops in a PM for her advice on software.
