well this is my Challenge for 2015 & IT WAS A BIG ONE! whew it took me longer to thread them back together then it did to figure out what design would fit . I am glad that I did it because I had it the back of my mind that these moccasins of hubs ( That I wear lol a little big but comfy) are quite ugly the way that they are & a little embroidery would pretty them up so much. That being said I doubt very much that I will try to do this again.......even with a darning needle these laces are too thick & it made for a very challenging 2 hours to lace them back up & my fingers are sore from yanking on the needle to pull the laces through.there are 3 layers for the bottom & the top that I had to go through to lace them back up so the red bits that you see are part of the liner & I'm sure will sink back in once I start to wear them again. After all is said & done even though one is off center I am glad that I took up the challenge & stitched these designs on real suede slippers!

Excellent idea and the embroidery gives them an expensive look.

Nice job! You certainly met the challenge. Sorry we didn't come along and offer the plier tip for sewing through all of those thicknesses.

Great job on the shoes! What did hubs think of his new design?? Would a pair of needle nose pliers made it easier on your fingers? Did you adjust the tension on the embroidery?

funny he is not home so has not seen them & he has a few other pairs so honestly I don't think he will mind in the least. his kids on the other hand may be a wee bit testy when they see what I did (they each bought him a pair over the years lol)
