These are the frames my husband made and I showed in Crafts. One is now completely finished, with paint and glass. I am showing the back, although we finished the best we could. I thought I cut it even rectangle, but this burlap is something else. This first one is for the shower tomorrow. ..The other I would like your opinion. Would you leave the frame natural, on the camouflage design, or would you put a dark stain. It will be framed with a glass (not in this photo) like #3 photo veiw but I wanted to show the back frame #4 where the glass, fabric and luan board sits in. Don't you think this indention would also be pretty on a front of a frame? see #4... I was going to make the black one to match their bedroom colors, aqua and brown, but my daughter said it would limit where it was placed. She, like many others, like the burlap and she said it could go on any wall. (Why didn't I think of that,Wish I was as smart as her).-lol-Dinnerware, runner and napkins wrapped, now just have to wrap the frame! No, I didn't do the pretty wrapping, my daughter does this. But I thought it was pretty to show. She sent these in a text.-Have a good night or day, whereever you are-Toogie

These are great! I do like the mat idea too! If you are concerned about the back showing the wrapped burlap, cut a piece of brown paper to completly cover the back & use double side permanent tape to hold it to the edge of the wooden frame. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say!! Look at the back of a "professional" framed piece & you will see. Am sure they don't use that tape...but it works!

I understand you exactly. The shower is over. It was Saturday and was 101 in attendance! .... If I could I would show you how we did my husbands grandparents photos. I am 'taking it easy" for a while so maybe one day I'll show them.

Your gifts turned out really nice. It is wonderful that you have supporting team members! Looks like you have all the bases covered: an expert embroiderer, carpenter, and gift wrapper! Great job. The recipients will be very pleased!

I am sure they were. There were so many people! The shower was for my nieces son and his future wife. My niece only had a son and a daughter. When her daughter was in college she came home one weekend to go with her boyfriend that Saturday morning to pick out a new truck. They were almost home around noon and a drunk driver killed them both. ...I am so happy her son has chosen a girl that is close to his mom and let his mom get so involved with all the planning of the shower and wedding. I hope God blesses them with children for my niece to love and enjoy!

It turned out perfect Toogie! I'm glad you had her input so you're sure she will like it. I like the dark stain, it accents the dark lettering.
I'm giving mine to my future DIL this coming Saturday at her shower : )

I am positive she will like it as much as everyone liked this one. It seems like burlap is the 'thing' right now . I was surprised at all the decor she received in addition to household goods . I love those 'expensive' metal monograms they have out now. Not only did they get the 3 letter monogram they also got ' The Blanks ' by blank I mean their last name. I have seen the 3 letter hung on the outside doors but I think the last name would be beautiful on an inside wall. Have you seen these? Blessings to your son and future DIL on their marriage- Toogie

Everything looks great! I'm doing this on burlap too, for my nephew and his fiancee, they are also getting married 3-14-15 (anyone note it's pi). The framing concerns me but I may see if Hobby Lobby will do it. I hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours did.

I am sure yours will be as much a hit as mine was. Her shower was yesterday and we thought she would never finish opening gifts! They really had a nice shower.

You've all done a beautiful job. Since you like the indentation in #4, consider adding a mat. I've marked one up in Paint so you can see what it might look like. I think it looks nice either way.

beautiful - would go with the dark frame too, or would match color of the writing (embroidery) with the frame color

I don't think I will go with the Orange frame,in this writing case, but I do like the dark stain idea even though most of the time I like natural wood. Thanks for looking and your opinion. Have a great day-Toogie

Gorgeous! I've been trying to come up with a way to use the mr & mrs design for my godson and his soon to be bride. This sure does look wonderful on burlap as you've done. Talented family you have... Hubs made the frame, you made that gorgeous embroidery, and dd wrapped it up beautifully! Gotta tell you... I'd almost think the gift wrap was the gift. Thanks toogie for sharing.

My daughters wrapping always look so pretty. She can also do flower arranging, none of which I can do. Look a few pages over maybe page 5 or 6. sewmom just did the burlap too for her son. I can't add the link. I am in bed, Drs orders, so I am on IPhone. If you don't have a split & sewforum has a free one if you are a member.😃

Lovely!! I can't believe you just did this. I just yesterday perchased burlap and frame to make one almost the same for my niece who is getting married on Feb 28th. The black frame I bought has a white framing mat in it. I hope I can do as well as you have. Nicely done and nicely wrapped too.

Thank you, but you too, are a Cutie now!😊 Be sure and post your work here. I had seen these done on Cute before and had been wanting to make some . I believe one of our Michelle's did a camo and our sewmom just did a burlap for her son. Look in Projects here, just a few pages over. Thank you very much! Not sure if the back of the burlap looks that good though . I needed enough to pull tight around my backboard, so it wouldn't sag or wrinkle in the front. I also add to adjust so it would look even on the front side, so now the back looks wonky. I did serge the edges and hand see the corners down, that helped.

Hi Toogie, I personally prefer the black frame I think it 'pops' more. I'm not into camouflage. You've done a great job with the stitching and your daughter has done a great job in wrapping. Love Chris

Thanks Chris I like the dark frame too on the black writing/ burlap. Just not sure how to finish the camo yet. May leave it up to them. Do you think I could go back and add their first names under date or would it not look right? I made this months ago and never got it framed .

She does do wonderful on decorating anything-that's why I usually leave gift wrap to her- I like the burlap best too but grandson has a camo recliner and tan sofa so thought camo would go good there. Also help him not forget anniversary😃

Oooohhhh presents, The frames and design is gorgeous...can we open them now? I think I would leave it in the light color, it really depends on the color of the woodwork in their home doesn't it?

The camo frame is for grandson & wife. I told my hub we could wait and ask them what finish they prefer on their frame. If you're there at 2:00 pm you can help hand them out, not sure about opening!-
