General Beauregard did NOT see his shadow this morning. It is Groundhog Day and General Beauregard Lee, Georgia’s official weather prognosticator, is once again predicting an early spring for us here in the south.
Ahhh, doesn't he always see his shadow? But it is a nice break from the usual to have this tradition. I know the northeast of the USA is ready for temps above freezing and NO MORE SNOW.
The Western US needs the snow..send it to us please. We won't have enough water to take care of crops or other water needs if we don't get 6 good weeks of snow.
Doesn't look good, But we can't complain this winter. YET!
We have enough snow here today, 10" to 12" on the ground. We here in the Niagara area seldom get this much snow. We are between the two Great lakes so we often miss storms. Not this time .
Do you really get another 6 weeks of winter? we don't have this sort of thing here in Australia.. Saw on the tellie some bloke climbing the frozen falls looked weird being ice instead of water does it happen each winter.. marian
Yes most winters it will freeze right across the bottom. It is very pretty, even the trees along by the falls are covered in ice.
Silly girl there is going to be six more weeks of winter if he sees his shadow or not! lol We got a whole 2 inches overnight. I'll take yours.
It is bad here today. All schools are closed, and the police are telling people to stay off the roads.
There is a famous one in PA and one here in the Atlanta, GA. area that I know of. I cannot believe that so far we have made it through Jan. with only a few cold days. I have jonquils blooming in my yard. Kay
