Very nice work - you have done a great job. It is a great feeling of satisfaction to complete that first one.
Now, onwards ......................
thankyou, yes it is a great feeling, the cutees have given me great confidence to do this and I appreciate it very much, I am looking now at having nothing but monogram towels in my bathroom, all different , that will drive my daughter crazy as she likes to see everything uniform.
aww trish arn't men so precious and your first attempt at towel embroidery is first class do you know the name of the font?....soozie
Thank you for the comments, the font name is Petite Fleur found at Cute alphabet. I have always loved this style of lettering , it is sort of Celtic. I also like old English font as well, which I will try .... one day.
Totally awesome. But be careful............. embroidery is very addicting!
I think I am already addicted, I feel like I get withdrawal symptoms if I am away from the machine for too long, and I swear that the machine calls me :)
Oh, very nice. I think what he was trying to ask is, is it okay for me to use it for dirty hands or is this just for show?
he is at the moment trying to work out the best spot to put them so everyone can see them when they visit.... I did suggest the bathroom, but he wasn't impressed :)
Well done Trish, I think you've chosen a wonderful font to use for your first time. You would never know it was your first - it looks like a professional piece of ME (machine embroidery). Great idea re your colour choice too as it looks great on the beige towel. Well done, love Chris
Thank you Chris, I am very happy with the finish results, you would never know I got the handtowels from crazy prices for $1.50 each !! And thankyou for the idea of the freezer go between, it worked a treat.
Excellent. Beautiful work. We all knew you could do it. Hugs Marg
Nailed it! They are beautiful. He just wanted to be sure if it was to be used or admired only! How great that he asked first!
Thanks, he is funny at times, every time I make something he especially if it is Irish Colours as he calls it, he puts them on the table he has beside him when he watches TV, he told me last night he needs a bigger table as he is running out of space !!!
you did a wonderful job Trish & perfect placement as well. ~hugs~
thankyou, I wasn't sure about placement, so once I had the design picked, I searched the Q & A to see if there had been any questions on placements, then went to Embroidery library, then Mr Google armed with all that I went for it, it seemed to work.
Nicely done...and your placement looks perfect, too!
Thanks, placement was a bit scary , but this site is like an embroidery class that is open 24/7 and is a great source of information and help.
Well believe him men are always right you know hugs:):)Keep up the great job :):)Carolyn
Thanks for your comments, I come to this site everyday, its as addictive as sewing I see all the work that cuties do and I am learning a lot. I get the "I can do this " feeling from here and then off I go. :) Trish
This is very well done and I would not have guessed your first attempt. You were smart to seek advice first as it told you how to pick a perfect design. This is a great place for advice and the Cuties have helped me many times. Having putting something on all the towels and pillowcases in your house. This hobby is addicting. Becky
My last line was supposed to say have fun putting designs on all the towels. :)
Thank you for your comments. Getting the placement where I wanted it was a challenge, after I rechose my design ( my first choice wouldn`t have worked too many thin lines) I searched the cuties Q & A section to see if anyone had asked about placement, then emb library, then went to Mr Google with all that info and fingers crossed I hit the start button . It worked.!
This is addictive, I am already checking out the pillowcases, I think they have to be unpicked at the seams first ?
Great first embroidery on a towel. You have done yourself proud.
I have always admired personalized towels, never been able to afford them, now I can ! Doing them myself the sky is the limit to the choice of fonts that I use many ,many thanks for your comments I do love how they have turned out.
I'm so proud of you! You chose a great font, lovely colors and did a super job. Your hubby sounds like mine, will support me to the hit with no idea what it is all about. But we love them. Keep on stitching those towels.
Yep he comes out with some beauties, but I would be lost without him. Thanks for your comments and encouragements
You have done very well! It was smart of you to choose this design because a thin line or skinny font gets buried in the towel loops. Also, you were right to change the color for it to show on your towel. Very elegant.-Toogie
One of the cuties tipped me off this morning about the choice of designs for towels, she mentioned the lines, glad I was told about that as the first design I thought of doing was as you said skinny design and lines, and I would have been put off with the results, thanks for your encouragement today.
They are beautiful, Trish, you have done a great job!
Hugs, Lidia
Thanks Lidia, I appreciate the help and encouragement everyone has given me for this attempt, I now see it was not necessary for me to be nervy about doing towels, the machine sewed through like a hot knife in butter.
Congratulations on your 1st, the colours you have chosen look terrific on the beige towel. Remember you don't have to use the colours they suggest, be Wild and experiment. marian
the colours that came up to use would have been lost in the colouring of the towel, so I am glad I took the gamble and changed the colour. thanks for your help and comments.
*Congratulations* on your first embroideries, great job. Colours show up well.experiment is the key. Does not matter what you do as long as you are happy with the finished article. Choice of colours is entirely up to you, keep up the good work. Sandra
thank you, I am very happy with these, will be doing more and more and more.........
They came out great, I wouldn't have know it was your first attempt at this. Colors show up nicely too!
thank you, I don't think I would have even attempted it only for the cuties, but am glad I did, they were right, I wont be able to stop at one, I am talking about doing all my house towels, face washers , then I can start on pillowcases..... Only thing is I am in the accommodation industry can you imagine how many towels, facewashers, bathmats, pillowcases I have !!! heheh
These are fantastic and what a great start to embroidering on Towels
thank you, I changed the colours that the cute font said to use and used a dark brown for the letters , it was suppose to be a silver colour but it would not have shown on the beige handtowels.
