Great job Chris. Do we have 'bosal' at Spotlight? or maybe good quilting stores? I have not heard about it util reading a post on Cute the other day. Sounds like a product I should have..
Okay so now I have this tote bag on my "must do" list..... This is lovely, Chris and how lucky are your luncheon ladies?! Sue wish I was on the guest list! ;-) Hugs*
Thanks for posting the link for instructions. I love the bag you made, make me think I want to make one.
I have just finished watching the two vidoes, so quick and easy once you are shown. Now to buy some of the Bosal R form, only place i have seen on the net in Australia is at Lismore. Are you aware of any other retailers please ? Just love the colours of your bag, you have done a wonderful job with this, only hope mine turns out as well. Thank you for the lonks. Sandra.
Hi Sandra, that was the place I bought mine from. Lismore is not that far from Newcastle! Hope you have fun with yours. I made another one yesterday and it's gorgeous. Just have to finish it off on Thursday. I have the girls today, so don't get much of a chance when they are here. Love Chris
I watched the video when someone (Loralye I think) posted the link, the foam looks firm and soft and I would like to have a go with it if its available in the UK. Lovely colours again (wavy top bag), I love it, Jo
Thanks Jo, yes, it's fabulous stuff. I've got a few more to make yet! Love Chris
Stunning work Chris, not sure what this Bosal lining foam is, I will have to research it. The colours are fantastic together.
Hugs pam.
Hi Pam, it's a fabric which consists of foam between either one sheet or two sheets of an iron on fusible fibre. I only have the 1 sided stuff, but you can buy 2 sided. It makes the bag stand on its own. Love Chris
Very attractive and beautiful bag, love the combinations of the choice of fabric
Wow, Chris, I will be at lunch to get this...LOL!
Very pretty bags and fabric. I love the blues. Hugs...Shyam.
Love, love the colours. Thanks for name of foam, am going to look it up.
Lucky lady who gets this lol
Beautiful bag! Absolutely love the colors and the design! Jenny and the staff at MSQC are the best. Well done!
Chris it's magnificent. I'm waiting on the postman to deliver my foam, not here today so maybe Monday suppose I'll have to be patient.. Marian
Thanks Marian. I love this stuff - I think there would be lots of other suitable things. eg. cosmetic purses, computer covers, ipad covers, mobile phones, table runners, table warmers etc. etc. etc. the list is endless. Love Chris
Table runners or table toppers would be good no marks left on the wooden tables yeh!
Wow, you have made a wonderful tote bag, love the colours you have chosen and how you put them together. Love it.
Hugs, Lidia
I have just purchased the bosal here in the U.K.make sure it is the double sided fusible they do a single one also, not used it yet ....Bernadette
Hi Bernadette, I used the single sided one, but if needed I can get the double sided one too. Love Chris
This is the piece of Bosal In-R-Form that I purchased. It is 147cm (58") by 122cm (48"). You actually purchase it in 25cm lots, because I ordered more than the 25cm I got a longer piece. Plus $10.95 to post it!!!!! Love Chris
Lovely bag, lovely colours, lucky ladies. I LOVE IT. Hugs Shirley
Thanks Shirley. I can think of a lot of things to make with this stuff. Love Chris
this turned out very pretty Chris. I am still searching for the foam too. Not having any luck finding it here in Canada so may have to go online for the best prices. Can you tell me what the difference it between this foam & fusible batting? ~hugs~
Good morning/evening Loralye. This product has a very solid base. It's quite a sturdy stand alone foam with a fusible top and or bottom. You can iron on both sides, so you need to keep your iron away from it when pressing the fabric 'cause the iron might stick - it's not that bad really. The fusible batting is much more lightweight. You can see in the first picture how sturdy the bag is by the way it is standing. I love it! The size of the Bosal In-R Form that I bought was 147cm (58") wide by 25cm (10") strips - here in Australia it costs $11.00 per piece. Plus postage!!!! Love Chris
I got mine but it was a sew in, the difference is there is one called in r foam plus. That's the one you used. it will still work just can't iron it down. I'll try it out as soon as I can knock out about 4 projects ahead of it. mine was 36x58. Got it on ebay for $ 21.00-included shipping
This is very nice. I have been searching for the foam since it was first on here, can't find it here yet. But I love this and the colors.
I had to search on the internet for this Sandy. As you know I live in Newcastle, New South Wales and I found some in Lismore a New South Wales town and I had them post it to me. I know Jenny sells it at The Missouri Quilt Company and I see that it is only a couple of states away from you in Minnesota. I'm sure there would be lots of other places in the USA that carry it. Love Chris
So beautiful. You do wonderful work. I will have to put aside some time and try this out. I may have embroidered something on it.
Yes, an embroidery design would be nice, but I'd have to make sure it was on a plain piece of fabric, otherwise it would get lost in the array of colours on this. I have quite a few more to do, so will give it a try. Love Chris
P.S. A big Aussie welcome from me to this great site.
looks fantastic Chris,I will have to put them on my todo list
Good morning Monika! How's the beautiful Blue Mountains today? It's perfect up here today - going to be 26C, but a bit cloudy. At the moment the sun is streaming in over the back of the house and I'm looking out my front window at the front garden with sunlight creeping over the front fence. I've got those Naked Lady lillies growing up through my Torinias and they look so pretty! Have a great day. Love Chris
This bag is beautiful I wish I could visit Australia and see these goodies you are making in person.
Oops! I forgot to mention there are 2 parts to the YouTube tutorial. Just check the second one out once you've seen the first part. Love Chris
