I also have a Bernina that was giving trouble just before the warranty ran out. Eventually through perseverance I received good service. I do not know where you are from but I would get in touch with a head office.
I can tell you what I did several years ago when I had a similar problem with Bernina. After repeated "repairs" and "fixes" the dealer was at a loss of what to do. I wrote a NICE letter(send registered so you know they get it) to Bernina headquarters, telling them the history of problems, what the dealer had done, etc I then asked that the machine be replaced and said if they didn't feel this was warranted I would have my attorney contact them to work out a settlement. The day they got the letter they called the dealer and asked what kind of a customer I was. She told them ,"a good one" so they told her to call me and tell me to come in a pick up a new machine. You are reight that it is an expensive investment and they are know for top quality. I think the key was a polite but firm letter and telling them what I expected without being accusitory or bad mouthing their product. Don't let it go on any longer or they can say your warranty ran out, Good luck.
I am sorry you have had all this trouble and I hope Bernina honors their machine/service, by replacing your machine. This one sounds like a lemon. Good luck and try not to stress too much and make yourself really sick. Let us know how it is resolved. Take care Toogie
I'm with all the other Cuties...contact Bernina directly...inform them or send them copies of the service records...only 9 months old and all that many problems..you got a lemon...in California we have a Lemon Law...three time back within the first year and it's a Lemon and needs to be replaced with a new one...see if your state or country has a similar legislation...
We are sick for you having to go though this. Please stop what you are doing and immediately contact the parent company for Bernina. You will get no satisfaction from the dealer and Bernina needs to know what has been happening to you. You probably have the phone number and/or the email address to contact Bernina in your paperwork or manual. Perhaps someone with a Bernina can help you with the information if you cannot find it. Please let us know if you need more help and be sure to let us know when you do get help.
I really hope you do contact the parent company and are able to get some assistance as this would make most of us sick to our stomach with grief. Good Luck
9 mo. old? Sounds like the company needs to replace it. Be firm and list all times it has been to dealer for repair--how it seems worse ea time afterwards. You've been very patient to put up with it for 9 months--it DOES have a warranty, you know. At the very least, the company should have it shipped back for their experts to have a go.
If the machine was new then surely it had a years guarantee. You don't tell us how many times that you have returned it to the shop. If the machine were mine I would be looking to contact the main Bernina base in your country and I would have told the shop that sold me the machine that I was not happy with it or the service from them and that I planned on contacting the main base for the country and see what happened. I could go on but am not.
