Toogie, I think you saved the day!
She will love it :)
Oh...so lovely.... I love the fabric.It looks great. Hugs...Shyam.
You have done a fine job with this Toogie. I have found by loosening the tension a little when quilting, you get a lot less wrinkles on the back/Lillian
I hope I can remember this trick when I have to do another one. Thank you,Lillian
I think that you did a marvelous job. If your niece isn't happy (oh, she will be!) tell her that you will be able to raffle it off to your friends over here on Cute Embroidery. There are plenty of us that would love it! Now, if anyone wants to comment negatively on the back of the quilt this would be my response: The front is actually what we expect the world to see. The back, it is like a giant hug we snuggle beneath. Any wrinkles or twists are hugs. I mean, who gives a super straight hug anyway? It is good to feel loved ;-)
I wondered about the twisted look of the back. One thing I can think of is that the stitching alternated top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top which would cause this twisted look. Just a thought. --Sandra
It looks great! I am trying to learning how to quilt. There are so many in the good ol' thinker. I love the front. How cute. Neat idea.
I'd be happy with this, it is nearly impossible to get it better with a domestic sewing machine. Nice John Deere tractor fabric.
I don't quilt so is something is wrong with this I'll never find it! You niece or whomever she is will be so happy with your job. Great work, toogie.
Looks great. Nice job on the quilting. Happy Stitching
Boths sides look great. You did a wonderful job fixing it.j
Nah, it looks like it's been washed is all. Looks fine. Call her and ask her how many weeks you have to finish it. :)
lol-Did that before she brought it. Due for shower, March 14th. I don't want to tell her too quick, that it is finished, as she may have me doing more!
I think you did a good job, and it looks great. Sure they will love it
It looks great. You did a super job on the quilting. I know they will be pleased. We are all too hard on ourselves and want perfection, but its the imperfections that make things interesting.
Hugs
Jerri
Thats what they used to say when I worked at the sewing factory, I wanted perfection, and they didn't have time for that.
Fantastic save! The back really isn't bad at all. Truth be told, I have the same problem with my backs when machine quiltilng. I'm sure this quilt will be loved.
I struggle with this problem. Don't point it out and who but us would notice, eh?
Looks good..great save..once it is washed a couple of times...no one will ever know...
Toogie, I think it was a great save and she' lucky to have you to bail her out!
She has offered me a home cooked meal! She used to cater weddings/parties and is a great cook.
Toogie, I hope you took her up on her offer of a meal! You did a bang up job on saving her quilt. Take a bow!
Cindy
I think you did a great job with it. Even with a walking foot, I've had this happen. Made lap quilts for Christmas & got the "puckers" a bit on them. This turned out very cute for a little one! Your niece will be delighted with it I'm sure!
Thanks for telling me. The fabric isn't pinched or caught in the stitching, the green just looks twisted between the rows. She will be happy with it and glad she didn't throw it out.
she will be pleased with your work Toogie especially since she now knows what's involved. ~hugs~
I wouldn't want to buy it and then not be able to work with it. Me and a ruffler never got along too well-lol
No where close to the same. The walking foot just gives a greater area to pull the top and bottom at the same time as the machine sews. Mine has feet that move the top fabric through as the feed dogs on the bottom move the bottom fabric through the stitching area.
Your compasion sparkles within this quilt. Your Niece will be thrilled. It will give her a new confidence & motivation. The whole scenario is heartwarming.
Great job. This fabric is so cute, I'm glad you were able to save it.
once it's washed you won't be able to tell.. a great fix.. Marian
It is the backside because the front/top is smooth...she's not hard to please, just got frustrated with trying to do it herself. I told her it happens to us all. Sometimes we all have problems, leave it alone for a day, go back and everything goes smoothly.
A lovely piece of work Toogie. Sometimes it takes ages to prepare for stitching but this shows that its well worth the effort. Great patterned fabric
I do like the John Deere print and it was a simple put-together. Thank you for looking.
looks good to me , maybe the fabric wasn't printed stainght ,she should be very happy with the quilt
I knew someone with a keen eye for quilting would notice that. If I had trimmed it straight, with the way the design ran, it would have been cock-eyed. So to square it up I had to trim top and bottom like it is.
Looks good to me, you did a great salvage job!
I salute you.You did a great Job on a tricky Project. The jung Lady ows you ,hugs Ursula
