Glad you are back and can use the new computer.
I went from Vista to 8.0 16 months ago and since then to 8.1. It takes time to reinstall all your favourie programs and some getting used to at first, but it works well. Unfortunately there are two things I can no longer use, the software that came with my Nikon and the reader/writer for my Husqvarna Iris ( that machine only has a slot for embroidery cards) and thus is rather useless now. They did not make a patch or update for the hardware and the software no longer has the reader/writer thingy. I was told to use 5D and Vista or Older as OS. So I have to use a very old laptop (that uses XP and has a broken screen) hooked up to a separate monitor to even try and save a design to a card. Useless to say I only use the Iris as a sewing machine.
Good to see you and know everything is up and working once again!! How's your kitty crew doing?
Thanks! Kitty crew is down to 8 from 30, that are up for adoption. I have three outside feral I care for and two inside that are mine. With 8 it seems like a vacation. HEHE Thanks for asking... Suzanne
When it was 32 inside, how did you know where to step?(The msot I ever had at once was four, one for my tummy, one for my feet, one for the small of my back, and one to spit at the others so someone would yield their spot.)
I was reluctant to get Windows 8.1, had heard that a lot of programs could not be loaded onto it. Well it was not anything to be concerned about. My QuickBooks 2000 loaded OK as did a family tree program called Brothers Keeper, it is on a disc that came free with a magazine umpteen years ago (could have been 15 years ago). I had been running XP. It helps to have someone who knows what they are doing.
It will all work out. Hugs Marg
Thanks it is working out with hubby at the realm... Can I pick your brain about quick books? We started a non profit for the cats I have to do bookkeeping in quick books and I am lost. I can so bookkeeping on ledger paper.... Now to do it on line Suzanne
Sorry I have been away for a couple of days. I have the quickbooks program. Had it since 2000. Do not do it on line. I think you can only get it on line now. That is what had me worried when I thought I would not be able to use my old programs. Marg
It's so good to have my sister/friend back. Give Dave a big hug from us all for his many hours of hard work to get you a new laptop and then to get it up and running.
Great news Suzanne & lovely to have you back again ~hugs~
Good to see ya! Sounds like you have everything good! Yeah!
Good you are back. It will take a bit ti get used to windows 8. As long as you can get to your embroidery files and log in here, you are good to go.
Great news and glad you are back...a relief indeed! Big thanks to your hubby, too!
