Was on my way to the Bathroom last evening. My back door has Glass in it. As I walked towards the back door I saw something like a large Black thing on the cement thinking it was too fat for a snake. As I got closer I realised that it was the tail of the Joey Kangaroo. Mother was just along side it. I watched for a few moments, then they realised I was there so they moved away. Have taken photos after they moved away but possibly too far away for a good photo.

Nice to hear the mum regards your place as safe and is teaching her joey that. maybe next time they will stay still longer for you..

She has had a Joey at least twice before. Didn't see her last year so maybe there was no joey.

Looks like you will have to take to carrying the camera all the time :-)

Yes but they move away when they see me and I am not quick enough.

That was an exciting trip to the bathroom. Even though you weren't able to get a close up, you have the memory.

Our wildlife runs to the winged variety-ducks. swans and wild turkey. The turkeys know there is no hunting around here so they just ignore you unless you get their attention and then watch out. They will attack anything - cars dogs whatever.

We have a lot of ducks and they love to all be on the road at the same time

Wow! Does that happen often? I heard there is a cyclone or something, is that near?

Thank Goodness the cyclone is no where near me but we could use the rain. It seems to be the time that the Joeys come out of the pouch and I think Mother has adopted my place as hers.

Cool! I only seem to get possums here. Ugh! They are just nasty critters!

Oooh, we've had a really nasty BIG possum in the neighborhood this week - attacked a dog!

I usually get possums across my roof and I am sure they are wearing boots. Not heard them this year so far.

We have lots of deer here and they get hit by cars all the time, but growing up in East Tennessee at the foot hills of the Great Smokey Mountains the closer you were to the mountains the bears would come down looking for food and kill the dogs. Hungry bears are very dangerous. Kay

Our Kangaroos are sometimes hit by cars as well.
