I have Windows 8 but there is a way to get your Windows 7 PC run like an XP at times. I am sure if you Google it someone has posted directions. If you don't know anyone who reads geek and need help, post it here and I'll get in touch with you.

That idea will not work in this case. She just needs to update the embroidery machine. It will not successfully connect to her computer otherwise.

Is your Windows 7 computer a 64 bit version? See the link for your answer. If you purchased it from a dealer -- see if they would be willing to do the updates for you.

A couple of years ago, I had the Innovis 1500. Last year, I bought Windows 8.1 laptop, and it did something similar to that, I had to update my machine from the Brother website, so maybe you need to see if you have an update for your machine. Hugs, Charlotte
