The variegated will make nice large monograms! Metallic is touch and go. Use a thread stand to give more space for the thread to unwind before it gets to the machine. Try putting the spool on the stand upside down, sometimes that helps too. If it gets too twist, stop, cut thread, back up 10 spaces, straighten out thread (de-twist) and restart! Oh and use topping.
I have done a lot of fsl ornaments with the variegated thread, They always turn out nice.
no help on where to use, but look how it can work out with variegated thread
Thanks thats lovely coaster and the colours of the thread look pretty :)
I too found something good to read about this here : http://www.craftsy.com/blog/2014/...
The variegated threads are fun to use in many designs including redwork. Use the metallic threads with a thread stand or if you don't have a thread stand, place the spool in a cup or glass. Place whichever you use away from the machine, even on the floor. The distance for some reason works. The thread doesn't break. Keep asking these questions. they are very good questions to ask.
Thanks a lot :) for all the tips and suggestions!
This is a good way to learn.....asking whatever we want to know!
I use those for initials on towels, or small frames for initials or posies. I love the colours.
Thank you so much....I dont have much choice around here...but happy at least I have these :)
