My temporary sewing room.

My sewing room is redecorated and some other work. I won't show you a picture because it looks very sad. the whole ceiling is down! (I had a leak last year and it needed replacing) But it will take 2 weeks to finish so I dragged one of my machines downstairs in the living room (To the annoyance of my husband) You just forget how much you need for one project and a small (quite wobbly) table does not hold it all so I am spreading. I hope these 2 weeks will go fast and that they don't find more problems. (An old house always seems to throw up surprises and this part of the house is 300 years old).

I know what you mean!!! Our house is no where near the age of yours, but we are having lots of trouble right now...it's sinking!! Seems there's a fresh water spring under the addition! Foundation is cracking, etc. Aggg! Hope your sewing room is up & running soon!!

You are so right about old houses. They are full of surprises at the worst times. Enjoy stitching no matter where you are and I hope the work goes smoothly and quickly.

sorry about the leak in the ceiling... does that mean a new roof.. well when the project is done it will be wonderful.. and a new space for sewing is always fun to decorate.. a 300 year old house will have a break down once in a while..

Glad you were able to squeeze out a corner for you to at least do a bit of sewing. Hope that there are no surprises in your repair and that it will be done in 2 weeks. Most of us who have done any remodeling/repair projects say to almost double the time quoted. If done earlier than double the time and less than 30% higher bill then in my opinion you have had a successful project! Hope you can find all your supplies you need while your sewing room is in boxes and totes. I so understand!
