The drawback is the size of the hoop. I have a 190D and it is a nice workhorse that never gave problems. I have the extra 100x170 hoop, but that does not mean you can sew more than the 4"x4" area at a time.
If you can afford it, go for a machine that takes larger hoops.
Yes, it was (is) my 1st machine. While it always stitches well, I yearned for a larger stitching area. You have to buy the PED Design (that's another $100+), or another program to add more designs with the card. It is nice to have a machine that you can plug into the computer like my 2nd machine (it has a 6 x 10), I mainly use my laptop with the 2nd machine, that way you have unlimited designs for your every desire. I hope I helped, Hugs, Tammy
The only difference of Disney in Brother machines is the Disney designs. I believe that if you get one of these machines you can stitch the D designs out to your hearts content but the finished work cannot be sold. I have 2 Brother machines and they are excellent. I have also used in the past another 10 but none were Disney. I am sure someone will be along who will give a more detailed answer.
