At school we were taught a mnemonic to recall the decimals, in French. It gave you 127 decimals, and I got lost after the first few lines.
Later I found out there were several in English that gave less information but were easier to remember. Like the:
"How I want a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics!"
You had to count the letters in every word,
so it's this limerick I preferred:
Tis a favourite project of mine
A new value of pi to assign.
I would fix it at 3
For it's simpler, you see
Than 3 point 14159.
That's something I can remember.
This is so interesting! I'll pass this on to family. We have several who love math. One son-in-law often interjects numbers relative to my topic of conversation! Thank you for your input. I admire that you are multilingual, too.
My math teacher son would love it I'm sure but it's too far away.
